Picked this up about 3 years ago and adapted it to our Craftsman GT. Used it a couple times during the 2016-17 winter and it worked good. The powder coat is peeling and it is starting to rust so I figured I should paint it.

Today I took the Gator up to the barn where it has been stored and hauled it home. I started the tear down by going after the auger pulley. It took some heat, pinch bars, and dad taping on the shaft with a brass drift to get it off. I think a few bolts now and I can remove the auger assy.

Pulled the frame and chute off and Blasted the housing. Need to clean up a few areas that I missed or the powder coat was really thick and didn't come off easy. The powder coat on the frame looks stuck pretty good so I think I can just sand and paint that part.

I pressed the impeller off of the shaft so it can be cleaned up and painted. I'm not sure how the impeller is built, but it looks like the blades are bent a little, kind of twisted back. Looks like it will need a little repair work done to it.

If it was me and I had that blower apart that far I would be adding three more paddles to that impeller. Or I would make a new one. With more than three paddles.
