RED's 2018 Winter refresh - 1990 917.254450 Craftsman

I meant to say the holes where the tins fasten to had the bolts broke off, and when trying to drill the bolt out the whole hole was destroyed.

Mid 30's and the paint smell is starting to fade in the shop. I noticed that using the propane heater and Milk House heater there is less venting in the Man Cave. I do have a ~ 1" gap above the roll up door. The Broken A/C Heater would vent to outside when running. I plan to see if it can be repaired, or replace it at $499.00 :(.

I wondered about that. Might check on a product called PC-Fahrenheit. (High temp epoxy) Part of the PC epoxy /PC Metals family of products Made in Allentown PA.
Repairs to the carb on my EH2 New Way are holding well. Might be a product to save the tin mounts. If it doesn't work, you're out alot less than a new AC unit.

Successful day at work today, fixed a crashed server and I didn't cause the problem. Spent some time fitting up parts on RED's deck. Nothing tightened yet other the mandrels. I used anti-seize on them. I figure I'll be taking things loose to add the pulleys later on. Mostly to make sure I got enough new mounting hardware. You have to read between the lines (very faint lines) in the manual. Disassembly Pictures often work better.

Made some progress this morning. Chilly and windy here. Took the time to make sure the lower belt lined up on the idlers. It seemed I had one extra spacer washer than was needed.

Thanks! I caught this one before any rust set in. A new coat of paint every two years seems to keep it in good shape. Just finished sharpening the blades and installed them. It will need new blades next year. PS. Next year's refresh I'll need to tackle the oil leak, it's back.

I'll order a new gasket set this summer, and try and find it next winter. In the mean time the leak keeps the steering bushings lubed :)

RED is done, but not perfect. I know what is on the list for next winter, Tires and a gasket set. I needed him ready for the mowing season which is soon approaching. I need to go out this afternoon and do some weed whacking.
