Thinking of going to a larger tractor

Since Sharon is in a wheelchair now I have to get the Dakota next t the house and lined up to the ramp we installed last summer, the ramp is working good, but to use it I have to have some room to maneuver the Dakota and with the snow we have had this winter its getting hard to stay ahead with the Husqvarna and the F-250. Every time it snows I lose some space plowing and the Husqvarna can only do some minor clean up. So I'm thinking about getting a Compact tractor with more power and capacity, having researched a few thractor I'm considering a Kubota B2400 they have a 3 cylinder 24 hp diesel engine 4 wheel drive and hydrostatic trans (at least that's what I want). The B2400 were built in the late 1990's and from what I've read are good little tractors, I would prefer a front mount blower but finding one will take so looking, one thing I'm not enthused is installing and removal of the front mt blowers so have been thinking I might try a 3 pt one and of course I want a cab. Finding a B2400 with a cab is not looking good but I did see an aftermarket basic cab for around m$2000. This is all in the thinking dreaming stage Here's a link to a B2400 not to far form me

With the amount of snow you get it would probably be a good plan. I would like to find a John Deere 955 and set it up with a blower, cab , finish mower, and a few other implements. I might even think about selling some of the other GT's at that point.

You may want a tractor with loader as sometimes getting close with a 3 point blower is difficult, but easy with front bucket. Just another thing to consider. I know they are much higher, but more versatile.
Actually I'm surprised at how many Kubota have loaders on them pro, but I'm to a real big on loaders and snow to me thay make the tractor too clumsy and you really have to be on your toes when backing and turning with a loader hanging out front

I've thought about the JD's the 4 wheel drive one are to much money for me

A Kubota and a couple of John Deere and a MFerguson and I've heard ads for Kioti really have not paid much attention before this
Actually that Kubota you showed doesn't seem like a bad deal. But till you add a cab and some kind of snowblower you still might find yourself up around 10k or more.
But at rate it makes many more choices..

Keep your eye open they're out there..

Yep been checking and adding things up and I just might be better off jumping right off and getting a little newer with everything on it. For some reason many have loaders and some have snowblowers but few have cabs
I'm thinking also that probably is a fair price for that tractor but I'd have to look it over and start it and drive it, would also make an attempt to talk to the PO.
After the tractor the next biggest thing would be a cab I think I can get a 3 pt snowblower (54") that next some work pretty cheap from my brother

Ah, the Kubota B2400 is a SCUT size, meaning sub-compact. Reason being, the rear tire profile is small at the 16-inch. When the tractor uses 22-inch or larger you can state CUT. My rule of thumb is, can the tractor 3PT operate a PHD auger to successfully raise it out of the ground over the dirt hump created. Then it's a CUT. Most SCUTs can not do this task or worse, they can't use one as it will drag the auger screw on the ground.

Seeing all that snow, I would strongly recommend a machine with 11.x-20 to 11.x-24 inch tires. This is for a push blade front or back.

The B2400 with a front mount PTO snow blower would be the ideal setup.

Here's a few newer tractors I've saved for now I'm in no hurry got all summer to be looking

This is the one to choose for an SCUT. And with rear chains too.

OK, the stats on the B2400 are not really impressive for the time it would take to move all the snow.

Tiny little tires and the tractor speed says you'll be out there for hours. I can clear a 550 foot gravel driveway of over a foot high in under 20mins.

Look at the two B2710 tire sizes as an example. Going from 12.4-16 to 13.6-16 gets a bit faster. My CUT with 11.2-24 would dance around the smaller SUT as the tire size gives a huge advantage.

The Kubota GL19, GL21 and GL23 are great machines too. Rear tire size allows all kinds of benefits for the machine.

Is Kubota your main brand of choice?

The cab I put on mine is by Original Tractor Cab and after two winters I'm really happy with it. Doesn't look factory (JD doesn't make one) but does a great job of keeping me out of the elements and has big doors and it's roomy inside. Here's a photo of the one that would fit one of the tractors your considering. One bolt on each side and you can take the doors off in the summer.

As Daniel stated the loader comes in real handy for moving snow around the buildings. I've only had my loader off one time. Use it all the time.
When you drive a Kubota pay close attention to how comfortable you are with the treadle pedal. Some people have a hard time and others really like it.
