Thinking of going to a larger tractor

The cab I put on mine is by Original Tractor Cab and after two winters I'm really happy with it. Doesn't look factory (JD doesn't make one) but does a great job of keeping me out of the elements and has big doors and it's roomy inside. Here's a photo of the one that would fit one of the tractors your considering. One bolt on each side and you can take the doors off in the summer.

As Daniel stated the loader comes in real handy for moving snow around the buildings. I've only had my loader off one time. Use it all the time.
When you drive a Kubota pay close attention to how comfortable you are with the treadle pedal. Some people have a hard time and others really like it.
Hi Chris thanks for the good information, this is why I posted to get you guys experience, yes a loader can be handy but for use here in my yard a angleing front blade would be much better I have 2 loader tractors now neither one gets used for snow moving

OK, the stats on the B2400 are not really impressive for the time it would take to move all the snow.

Tiny little tires and the tractor speed says you'll be out there for hours. I can clear a 550 foot gravel driveway of over a foot high in under 20mins.

Look at the two B2710 tire sizes as an example. Going from 12.4-16 to 13.6-16 gets a bit faster. My CUT with 11.2-24 would dance around the smaller SUT as the tire size gives a huge advantage.

The Kubota GL19, GL21 and GL23 are great machines too. Rear tire size allows all kinds of benefits for the machine.

Is Kubota your main brand of choice?
I'm open to other brands but I want something that is supported to some extent and something I can afford as for the larger tires to me its not needed I've been clearing the yard for the 47 years with a plow truck and a walk behind blower ( I was 30+ years younger) and the last 15 years with the Husqvarna lawn tractor and its worked good until now that I have to keep the area at the end of the ramp clear in the past that area could slowly fill in and it wasn't a problem to just drive straight up close to the front door and back away. and another consideration is the space I have in my garage for the tractor. If we get slammed with snow ny friend and neighbor is a half a mile away and he has a White 2-105 with a 7' or bigger blower on it. I'm not going to buy a tractor in next week or month I'll looking and learning and I appreciate the information and ideas

I would do some good research and not get into a hurry. It sounds like a package deal would be best, less headaches finding things to fit and may cost more. I have a friend that has a Kioti and loves it. I really like your house too Gary it looks nice and cozy like most older homes do.

Thanks Jim yea I'm in no hurry I have thought about the Kioti but seeing a members post about having troubles getting parts and repairs kind of has me thinking differently so it good to hear your friend likes his and its working good just aren't many if any used ones around us

This is what I was sorta thinking Gary, no cab on this thou. But around here these types of tractors , any brand, come up for sale. And have cabs.

If you don't do frequent lifting and moving stuff, then I see why you're not really interested in a front end loader. So then, if I were in your position, I'd go with a SCUT with a front mounting snow blower with a blade on the rear. Likely 90% or more will be blowing rather than pushing, so why have a rear blower and soon end up with a stiff sore neck, and a rear blower will soon do that to you even if you've never had neck issues. And if you do have occasional things to lift or move, you can get a boom pole or set of rear forks.

You may want a tractor with loader as sometimes getting close with a 3 point blower is difficult, but easy with front bucket. Just another thing to consider. I know they are much higher, but more versatile.
Just what I was going to mention. Snow blower is limited to blowing snow or (shelled corn). Loader can be used year around and no tanking on and off every spring and fall. Loader can carry the snow out of the way and wind won't both it much. Just my thoughts.

It’s funny when it comes to equipment even the garden tractors were regional. You have to go with what’s popular and serviceable in your area.

Hi Roger I have experience with loaders and moving snow I have 2 loader tractors it not my cup of tea

Here’s one for you Gary. But they are pricy, Hydraulic snowblower with the loader on the front would pretty well get thru any snow bank.

Hey guys I was thinking while working in the shop this morning before I got a loader tractor I go with a skid loader would fit in the garage hamdier all around and you have the option of snow bucket plow blade or a snowblower and maybe that's what I should be keeping an eye open for also

I'm not a fan of skid steers because of the limited visibility and difficult access but in your case it might just be the answer to your problem. They are far more maneuverable in your tight area and the front blower close to your seating would be a big plus. Also there are many attachments available for them.
Good luck in your search Gary. Taking your time is a great idea. I spent months looking and ended up with something completely different than I started out to buy.
