Thinking of going to a larger tractor

Been doing some more research checked on Kioti tractors not overly impressed and no used ones in this area, checked the LS brand same thing closest dealer is 90+ miles away, looked at some John Deeres on CL a few but not all the many some are beat and they want way to much when the grill is busted fenders bent I loose interest right away and none have hydrostatic trans. Talked to my brother he has a 54 in blower he change to hyd drive for use with his skid loader but it was to light duty for the SL so he bought one made for his SL when it warms up he'll look to see if he had the parts to put it back to a 3 pt blower.
Checked out OriginalTractor Cab for a B2400 Kubota loos like around $1400 + shipping & tax

That's what I paid for mine. Seemed high to me but after owning it for awhile I would do it again. Mine did come with the glass windshield and wiper assy. Have to give them credit the instructions were good and for my tractor. Much better than buying a Chinese version and getting instructions for a tractor only sold in Pakistan. Also you can get parts if needed.
Half the fun of buying something like this is the hunt unless you need it tomorrow. .

The one thing that bothers me is getting in and out of the skid steers, wheel or track is the high chance of a foot slipping on the metal and going down - in, on or in between something that wasn't meant for me to be there. We have all slipped a bit on steps or foot rest on GT's which wasn't to bad but on the front of a skid steer?

How far away are Mitsubishi, Mahindra, Iseki, New Holland, and random dealers of used machines?

Thanks for that information Chris, that is the way I would go, by the way where did your cab come from how much was the shipping

Right on Roger that is what turns me off on them also a few years back my brother went to get out of his stepped out on ice where he put his foot fell twisting and broke his ankle bad he was home alone and had to drag himself to his house and told me his foot was 90 degrees off not good

I havent had any personal experience with kioti but from my understanding thay are less expensive, decent machines. They dont seem as popular as others such as kubota, and I wonder the real reason behind that. I have noticed a few local farmers use kioti tractors and they are happy with them.

If I remember correctly I purchased directly for the company and the shipping might have been free. Didn't seem like there was any savings buying from a retail vendor. If I remember correctly most if not all vendors just had it drop shipped from the factory anyway.

I had it in my mind that Kioti was going to be the tractor I was going to buy because the feedback was very good. That was in the middle of the china flue and nothing was being delivered to the dealers. I still believe them to be a good choice but I recently read that parts are in very short supply. This could easily be the case with all imports though. John Deere was down the list a ways but I ended up buying one and a 130 hours later things are going good. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Original tractor cab is what’s on my LGT 165 Ford garden tractor. It’s about 43 years old now. Shows a little wear and tear. But still very useable. It has not gotten any worse since we had the tractor. 18 1/2 years we’ve owned it now. I did replace the plastic windows in it about 5 years or so ago.

We have a Kioti dealer about 30 miles away. Thing that bother me is they were a large, and still are a Polaris dealer, then started to sell all sizes of trailers, and now Kioti tractors. Wonder about a Polaris mechanic working on a Kioti tractor ?

Most good mechanics aren’t limited to one brand. From my area Kioti isn’t that popular because we are a predominantly JD country. Kioti has one dealership not far away and seems to be doing well.

In the past 2 years, the Kioti brand has suffered great set backs. It's known on Tractorforum.com and TBN as of recent.

LS is another brand having set backs as well.

Kubota only has issues with some of the loaders not being available due to supply chain shortages and logistics.

Deere dropped support for many machines prior to the 2000 (Y2K) year. They are mostly focusing on machines built after 2000 now. Plus, they had announced an agreement for the Right-2-Repair direction going forward. Not sure if this is to skirt any pending bill that could become law. It's unknown at this time.

ARGO has the McCormick brand. The McCormick CT23 and GX series would be something to find too. Some of the McCormicks are sold here in the USA/Canada markets too. Their low ended compacts are only 21Hp or greater.

As a great help, Tractor Data site can help with models and history. And in most instances tell you the engine in the machines. Best to find many machines with the SAME engine or engine family to know parts will be available for decades to come.

There is a Massey Ferguson several John Deere and an excellent Kubota dealer near, further away is Kioti LS MT225
If you have a Rural King near you, the RK19 or 24 would be ideal. :)
TractorData.com - RK Tractors farm tractors sorted by model

Tractor Supply use to sell tractors. And they were YANMARS. 1977 thru 1979. Due to the Deere venture, Yanmar pulled out offering them anymore thru that network. However today with TYM, Yanmar supplies the engines and TYM the machines to Rural King. A win-win.

I think it was Kioti, and definitely Mahindra that several years ago had issues of tractors breaking in half, in the bell housing area. Reno who used to roll my hay had his Mahindra snap right in half when moving rolls, one at a time to his trailer. He was just happily rolling along and BAM, his head went into the windshield!

The LS tractors were twisting in half as the frames were sub-par for strength back in 2017 thru 2019. People would fill the loader bucket up, back up, and as they turned to go forwards, the frame twisted. The loader couldn't more up nor down because the twist was so bad.

One of the YT channels was making a video and it happened to them. Deep South Home Stead with over a million homesteading subscribers. It was a black eye to the LS brand.

I agree with the last paragraph. In my searches on tractordata, I can normally find info on what ever tractor I look up. But if I know who it’s made by, I can find it there in that site too. Interesting at times what you find on tractordata. And of course the information may not be exactly correct, but I find it a good site. I use tractordata a lot.

A number of years ago my brother in-law was a TYM dealer. He was happy with their tractors but they started getting slow about paying or backing warranty claims. He was not happy about that. I hope they have those issues taken care of.

I find this interesting, I saved a couple of Kubota listed on CL when I started this posting all have been sold or are no longer listed same on FB market place I had saved 9-10 tractors all but 2 have sold, had even save a 30 hp Cub that was close by and its sold. Looks like if I find one that really interests me I will have jump on, of couse that will be later when it warms up
