I had a used tube that held air. Quicker than patching the old one.Did you just put a new tube in it, CJet? That tire itself it an antique!

Yes its a John Deere but I don't know what model off hand. It is a dual disc. We have another one up on the farm that is a single disc and a couple feet wider.Looks like a John Deere drill, FB maybe?
Hope you find some good metal to weld to...don't look real good..Dad had a new piece of thicker sheet metal bent to patch the rusted out area behind the cutter bar 2-3 years ago. Found it out in the container and by the way it looks I should weld that in while its at the shop.
What am I gonna look at when I come over your place to snoop around. ?Got most of the pad cleared. It should be good enough to get the haybine parked there.
It does get solid up around 5"-6". This had rust through when we got it cause by not cleaning off the dirt/debris, and grass after the hay season. It builds up quite a bit right behind the cutter bar guards which then rots down and holds water all off season.Hope you find some good metal to weld to...don't look real good..
Thanks DAC. Sometimes feels like its going really slow and I should be getting a lot more done. You are getting a lot accomplished, CJet. I could use some of your productivity!

If you don't drill them before hand won't you be doing all your drilling up from the bottom ?Had to use the Hot Wrench to loosen all of the bolts holding the guards on. Nor to mark out where to cut for the new piece. Not sure if I will try marking and drilling the holes first or after I weld the piece in. I guess I need to check if the holes were oversized or not.
I just looked at the old holes and they are square. Probably doesn't matter if the new holes are square because the carriage bolts lock into the guards. I could always drill and file them. I could use the loader or engine hoist to lift the tongue up to make it easier to drill. If you don't drill them before hand won't you be doing all your drilling up from the bottom ?
