I hope so Kenny! This is a dream coming true. Also getting a Sears disc. Needs 5/8 pins put on which will get it wide enough to hook up. Got a spare set on the shelf.Who cares about color? Plowing is a blast!
Got a pattern to work off of now. Got to get the steel. There is a local guy that offered the use of his hobby shop. That might work out good if the offer still stands. One of those sleeve adapters is not that hard to make if you can bend the steel for the uprights. Just make sure the cross piece for the hitch is at least 1/4" thick!
That's a nice drawing. Thanks Kenny. The one I am borrowing has been twisted and beat back into shape. So I want to build heavy when I get started.Maybe this will help.
This isn't a true Gravely, but a rebadged Ariens. With the engine up front it is nose heavy. You may not need any as those Gravelys are rear heavy.
10.50x 23 turfs. Hoping the chains equal ags in traction. I got a set of 60 pound concrete weights and a set of 30's. Thinking of trying to start with 60 on the right and 90 on the left. Leaves me with 30 to spot as needed. Hopefully don't need more than that, cause I don't have more. I see these plow day pics and video with lots of weights and I start to think I might be way to light. We will be using a 10" Brinly plow to give us our plowing experience. Figuring to leave the snow chains on since we only have turfs. I am wildly guessing I will need a bit of wheel weight. Especially for JR, since he doesn't have as much gravity pull. For you experienced plow guys, how much weight would you guess is needed?
About 15 minutes away from Don's house. If the weather cooperates it will be next Saturday. If you are interested, talk to Don or Troy. They know the family who gets it together much better than I do.Were u plowing at?
I have always wanted to enjoy that but just recently put all of the parts together to be able to. One if these days.
After morning coffee and browsing the forums is finished. Still in the wife's van yet.No pics?
