What are you currently working on??

dad brought his little craftsman 2 stroke cultivator up to the garage. Said it wouldn’t run without the choke and he was done working on it. I said sure throw it on the bench and I’ll look it.

It had the tiniest little diaphragm carb I’ve ever seen. We always run the fuel out and store it. Been about 5 years since it’s been fired up. I took the tank off and the got the little cover off the diaphragm. It was dry as could be. I soaked it down with WD40. Seemed to soften up a little. Sprayed brake clean through all the little ports and threw it back together. Fired up one the second pull and idled like a brand new one.

Little thing works pretty good. It’ll tear up some dirt as long as you don’t try to cut through sod.

These are more like pets and don't hurt a thing. Just eat the ear corn we get from the neighbor.
We have some squirrels in the cottonwoods out by the road, Rog. They find corn cobs somewhere as I find the eaten cobs on the ground while mowing. I won't feed them. just as soon see them gone. Thankfully they are far enough from the house and shop that those critters don't bother the structures. If they ever start invading, I will feed them the same diet Marty does!

Animal hater ;);) Fine line between them being enjoyable to watch and them being destructive. Our are to busy eating the easy corm and ground droppings to be destructive.

I pulled the motor out of my 1810 a couple weeks ago to replace the ignition coil. I noticed one of the head gaskets was blown, so I decided to change both of them too. I had to order them and wait, and they sent the wrong parts the first time, so this took a lot longer than I expected. Then I started working on other stuff while I was waiting on them. I thought I would have got the motor out, changed the coil, and had it back in the next day. I finally got it back together and running over the weekend. Now I have to do some work on the mower deck for this one, then I can start cutting grass with it again.

If I was to feed them to watch, then the turkeys, deer and skunks would be attracted too. Long as they stay in the cottonwoods they are safe, Rog! A guy down the road feeds them and attracts all kinds of critters.

That 1810 looks like it can do most anything around your property, Nick! Do you have other attachments besides a mower deck and snow plow?

Your Dad must always be out front in that modified! No evidence of moving anyone out of the way on that front bumper!

I’ve only ever used the 1810 for cutting grass. I have mower decks for all but one of my tractors, 4 plows, and a rear rake. I need to start getting more attachments rather than getting more tractors.

That bumper is still nice because he only got to race once so far. It’s rained out almost every week, other than the two weeks his class wasn’t on the schedule. It’s not looking good for this Friday either.

With my right knee in a brace that only bends so far, not a lot one can go with anything. Don't realize how much we bend, kneel down and get back up again in just living for a day. I finished up the mowing before Memorial Day and that is the last time any tractor has moved. Blades need sharpening or changing to the new set, greased completely before it is ready to go again. Cant get down to do any of that right now. At this point not sure if it will be a jell implant or replacement. Don't really want the replacement this time of year but can't do anything anyway way so what the heck.

Well we loaded up my wife's FB marketplace with garage sale leftovers. Had 4 marine gas tanks, lotsa interest in one particular tank, crickets on the rest. That tank I sold was the first day.
Lotsa people were asking about the camper AC unit, everyone asks if it works and wants to give me half of my listed price without even seeing it .
I took the time to put a plug on the cord and verified it comes on and crickets. I absolutely hate people that offer you half of asking price from behind their keyboard without getting off their azz to come see whatever it is, lots of that. Each of the last 2 years I've sold a lawn boy self propelled mower for $80 and people come, give me my asking price and away they go.
The 3rd (1st this year) wasn't a charm for sure. By far the easiest starting one I've had, I spent $45 on a engine kill cable the last time I used it at the mother in laws yard last year. I put $70 on it. Had 1 person ask at my sale and didn't even make me an offer when I told them the price.
So onto MP it went. Everyone and their brothers throwing $50 offers out with nobody coming to see it in person. I have pix but til you come out how do you know I didn't take a pic of some random lawn boy across town? Had an offer of $40 I told someone I'd be keeping it.
Finally last night I sold it exactly how I hope everything would work.
And a 12ish year old Mexican -ish boy at that. The kid called me and asked questions saying he's talking because dad doesn't talk/understand English very well. The kid did, very well too.
The kid asked all the questions, dad watched, i showed them how to start it and how the self propelled part worked , shut it off, let the kid start it and mowed a bit, the dad did point ahead (guess he wanted the kid to mow a bit more with it which he did) then without any input from dad, the kid asked if he could make an offer. This 12 yo offered me $60 which I took without hesitation. As it turns out this kid does like I did at that age and has a few yards near home he mows for people and his mower quit. You don't see that anymore these days. The kid wanted this mower for his side work... As he handed me the cash and they loaded it, I thought that if I should have taken $50 from anyone it would be this kid .. why can't all sales go like this? This kid bought from me like I do when I buy from someone else.
When pressed for an offer I'll tell people I ain't offering anything til I am there to see whatever it is for myself. Some understand and some act like the proverbial deer in the headlight when I say that.

The only thing that I don't get about that whole deal is that Dad drove to my house in a 4 door 3/4 ton Chevy pickup. Older, one door a different color but I don't understand why they drive a truck then gotta haul a trailer for a single push mower these days....

And hydraulic cylinders... I have 3 listed. I have more that I haven't yet unburied out of the shed. Of the 3 I listed why everyone wants #3 which is the shortest of them... Crickets on the other 2. All priced the same. What's weird about that is it's the shortest of the bunch. This one sad an "A&I" brand sticker on it. A guy ride 2 hours on a big Harley from quite a ways into Indiana to come and buy that. Id figured the other 2 would have gone first but nobody is even asking about them.nobody building log splitters anymore?
Had no interest in my bug fogger at the garage sale/ but lots asking about it on MP. I sold one yesterday.
I actually have 2 of those, Im not sure if I want to let #2 go yet. We take that one camping with us.

He may be doing it all alone and it's a lot easier to get off a trailer than a pickup box. Sounds like a hard working kid!

Sounds like the 2 longer cylinders might be about the right size for a GT front end loader.

2 hours job turned into 5+ today. Mice got into the seat on Carolyn's Cub Cadet mower over the winter. Really did the number on it. I had another seat and the bolt holes matched up perfect. Mouse pee on the mounting bolts inside the seat froze the bolts solid. Had a type of Tee nut without the locking points in the seat. Ended up cutting the seat up to get down to a piece small enough to peal off those threaded nuts to get them broke loose and off the bolts. Had to use the old bolts over due to the spaces for the seat adjuster. The front hinge would not have worked if I did not use the old spacers and bolts. 3 hours this morning and another 2+ this afternoon and the replacement seat was on the cub. Wider, deeper seat and not slick like the old one. She likes it and I am tired.

Not much work other than drywall at my sister's. She paid a guy who hung it and bed the tape, even did a second coat on some stuff then never came back. I've been fixing all the missed stuff, tape popped loose, etc.

Wondering what you all think I should do with this, I was thinking of a carry all or cut it down as a weight box or.....????

It's about 40" long maybe 24" wide, 1/8" angle iron

I'll cut and hang it alright, but next time I need a room mudded and taped, that I'll get someone else to do that/ even if it means robbing a bank to get the money, I've tried multiple times and I end up getting more of it in sanding dust than is left on the drywall joints.

Worked on one of our push mowers, my son bought it almost 3 years ago for his mowing business, but bought a newer Honda last year so he let it sit outside since last year. I drained the fuel, sharpened the blades and mowed what I needed to push.
Then after he got home from his mowing yards, I grabbed the Scag and mowed our yard.

Then worked on the free CC 3184, and again,
I HATE MICE. The tractor has been sitting 3 weeks and they already had a nest inside the flywheel cover and started tearing up the foam prefilter. I added an elbow and barb fitting so I could run the pulse pump instead of the valve cover pump, also installed new spark plugs. Thing runs good for about 10 to 15 mins then begins to hunt. I think it needs the tank cleaned and a new fuel filter.
