What did you do with your tractor today?

I got my 126, 149, 1810, and 1450 running this weekend and took them each for a ride. I haven’t used any of them since October, the 1810 was sitting even longer. The 126 and 149 are ready to go to cut grass, which I will probably need to do in the next week or two. I might put the mower deck back on the 1810 too, but I have to replace a spindle on it first.

Grass is turning green but still waiting for the 1/2" of rain. Not mowing till that happens. Have 0.18" so far this spring. Not growing much at 35° anyway.

We had a couple good rains in the past week. So I filled the roller and rolled the yard after each one.
Used the Roper to pull the roller.
The Village reworked the alley by the shop. So i rolled it also. Tried to get them to add some more gravel. But it wasn’t on thier agenda. Lived here 28 years, only the 2nd time they have messed with it. Usually every summer I go to the village lot and bring back buckets of gravel to throw in the pot holes/low spots.

Wow, you have a village lot to go get gravel, Rick? This "village" charges for every little thing. Cheaper to go buy small quantities at a lumber yard down the road than deal with them.

They have several piles of different size rock and a sand pile. It is not for the public.
But I go get what needs to go in the alley. Don’t ask, just do. Village superintendent has repeatedly told me that they do not maintain alleys. So I do it myself. Only once was anything said about it. I reminded them they do not maintain alleys, and the five residences using that alley pay taxes.

Good for you, Rick! I don't live in town, but the alleys are almost in better shape than the streets---LOL! That ain't saying much though!

Well I'm gonna have to weed out some of my tractors.
I gained 3 more (all cub cadets which I've used and tried to keep up with maintenance on over the years) when John the farmer who was letting me store stuff at his place, died ... They're (Johns cousins, and farm tenants ) out there tearing out trees and burning, gonna plow the front yard under all the way to the power poles about 10' from the driveway. His family has been out there cleaning up A LOT. I've tried all these years I have been going out there, as John lived alone and was a hoarder of the sort that belonged on that TV show. All I ever got (from John) was screamed at for my efforts.

Now can see thru the wraparound porch into the kitchen, which hasn't been the case in years.
His nephew called me yesterday and asked me if I could get out there and move what I had in the corn crib and squeeze into the barn my, and John's, tractors are in. So I went out and moved 4 sets of 80s Dodge truck doors fenders and a couple of core supports from the crib to the barn today.
Also fired up my ariens with the 48" snowblower on the front that I can't believe I haven't needed for the past 2 winters, took some cranking but sounds GOOD... And moved it into the other barn from the crib cant believe it started as easy as it did... It actually ran outta gas while I let it sit and run... Not a bad thing.
I actually let it run and warm up while my son and I moved the truck parts. I also fired up John's Hustler and moved it outta the barn to make space to work
I used the ariens to pull one of my newly acquired cub 1200s out, I put all new clutch in that one about 3 years ago but somehow now the driveshaft is tweaked.... I've had a new driveshaft sitting here for at least 2 years at home..... So I brought that one home to get running again, change that driveshaft and the seat, and that one will go down the road. Hopefully the tires will hold air and I won't have to tube them or replace them....
Theres also another 1200 which I completely rebuilt the engine a few short years ago, and he just had to have that he had talked me into selling him.... The next tractor to go will be between that one and a 1250.... I'm gonna hang onto one of those at least until I get the freshly machined engine back in my 129...
Then there's my New Holland (identical to the ariens except color, ariens actually bought the line from Sperry NH and that became their GT line... ) and 2 ariens to decide which to keep and which to pass on... All are too big to be any good to me here in this tiny yard where I live.....
It'll be slow but eventually I want to get down to probably 2 maybe 3 of those listed.

I also have a bunch of "crap" we had to clear out of moms house last fall and winter, I'm currently buried. Biggest items to note there are more rakes and shovels than I'll ever use, a couple of workbenches (80s sears with particleboard tops and drawers like their toolboxes that were Dad's) an Evinrude 115hp outboard, some camping stuff and several screen houses/ easy up type canopies that I never ever saw anyone set up up there. Not once. And plenty of camping stuff, like a small "oven" that I think gets set on a griddle over a campfire, several water containers, many never used,
I'm keeping Dad's 1953 "fleetwin" 7-1/2hp.
I have a 18hp I'm debating on what to do with. After I fix the lower unit on that one that takes on water and loses its lube.

And that truck I have all the doors and fenders for? I have a rolling bare frame for it at my son's house, a truck that used to be mine 15 or so years ago before I sold it to a not very mechanically inclined cousin which I was sorry I did so from about the 3rd day it was gone. It's been sitting at his house for too long for silly little stupid stuff like a busted gas tank strap and rotted off tubes at the sending units on top of the tank that my cousin has no idea what to do about.
My son bought it back 2 years ago for its engine and trans, he put into a project car of his after only a power wash, a few gaskets and some new paint since pulling it from the truck.
I also have a rust free cab, a bed from Colorado and those doors and fenders I brought back from a trip to Georgia a few years ago. I'm putting my old 83 D250 back together. I spent part of today stripping bits and pieces off that frame. Those body parts are also among what's been stored at John's place in that barn.
My son pulled out the original 318/auto, and it's getting a 360 and 5 speed stick back in. I'm putting a newer (and formerly fuel injected) engine in with a carbureted intake ... that's gonna be our new "camper hauler" when done.
I've been trying to coordinate the sandblasting of the body and frame with someone who's better with a spray gun than me, when they can both be done back to back.... John's passing and his family expanding the area they farm, is speeding up the urgency to get that underway. They have told me "no worries", no hurry" on anything I have in that one building but if it's gonna be it's gotta get done and soon...

Had the Braver and loader out Saturday for the first time this season. Made a hole in the wall where two windows were that would be the easiest way to get some heavy tools out of one building and into the other. Moved a 8x7x16" oak plywood first, then moved all the shelves, a thickness planner and two work benches. Will try and get photos of them tomorrow. Most of the other items are in totes or individual pieces like the 8" belt sander, 11"and a 10" band saw, plus all the tooling that goes with the Mrk 501 Shopsmith. Will start getting things put away tomorrow. Need to get the white roof coating on both of the containers. Later this summer want to paint them both white.
