What did you do with your tractor today?

Not even thinking about getting any of the mowers up and going yet. Only the middle of March and probably won't do much of any outdoor work for another 3 weeks or month yet. If we don't get a good rain I probably won't mow at all. Garden will shrink considerable too.

You could use a suction gun to finish pulling that oil from the tank you could see on the stick, if it is really bothering you.

Your idea worked Doug! I actually went and bought a $3.00 turkey baster from Walmart and it actually worked!

I was gonna use my ol reliable battery operated suction pump that I use for putting in gasoline since I already had it, but it would not work….

Glad you found something to get the rest of the fluid out, Eric. I'm pretty sure you will be fine to refill the system again with fresh fluid.

I would say that my first ever hydrostatic transmission change is done and was a success. I ended up putting a quart and a half in. I started filling in front of the seat where I asked for help where I originally could not get all the rest of the fluid out, in my first 2 pictures below where it is now filled with a little less than a full quart…..

Then I put the rest of the original 1 quart in my garbage can above in the fill hole behind the battery until it was empty….

Then I put about half of the 2nd quart of fluid in….

Have not had a thing out in the last couple weeks and then only the SXS. Bever & loader haven't been out for over a month. Everything else is right where they were parked last fall. Calendar may say spring begins but it has not been outside lately.

Glad you were able to get it out for ride Nick, it looks great. I don’t know what it is, but I just really love that little tractor out of all the ones you got.

Thanks Eric. I’m a Cub Cadet guy, and I hate to admit it, but I think it’s my favorite too. It’s a fun little tractor to drive.

Your Craftsman’s are looking good too. I’m glad you got your fluid change figured out on the hydro.

Its fun to drive and it looks good when your driving it, I would really love to have one of my own! Do you still have your Sears?
Yes, I still have the Sears, I haven’t used it for a while though. I think it either needs a new float in the carb or a new fuel pump, it seems like it’s running out of fuel when I’m driving it. Both seem to be common issues with those Onan engines. I want to get it running again soon.

Just starting to get a bit of green here too. Lawn care people are going hard and fast. If we don't get rain, I am not going to mow. Let it grow what little it will and help hold the moisture in. Saw a farmer in the field, first round with a soil conditioner and it was black, shiny and no dust. Way to wet for anything like that yet. Some of them farm so much ground that have to push the issue to get all the work done.

Used the Massy Executiveto pull the aerator. Did the yard twivce in opposite directions.
Then used the broadcast spreader to disribute some grub killer. Had an issue with moles last season. Figure to eliminate the food source. Rain coming on Sunday should soak it in. Might throw down some grass seed next week.
