What did you do with your tractor today?

Rolled out the mower deck for the Elec-Trak.
Installed it and mowed a bit of grass by the shop to limber it up.
The Kubota with suspension under the seat/ fenders will be my main squeeze for the mowing season. But the Elec-Trak will be kept ready as a side piece.

Wow, Rick, that suspension in that Kubota would sure save my bad back a lot of pain in our rough yard! I like that front mower configurationon the Elec-Trak! Do you still have the other one?

Brought the MF7 and Massey trailer to the garage. Trailer needed new reflectors installed. The tractor has had a rear tire air leak for some time, turns out a loose valve core. I went to tighten the core and the whole valve stem snapped off, look original to the tractor. I broke bead enough to get a new stem installed. I brought the old MTD tractor to the garage to take off the rear lug tires before i take it to the scrap yard. I took off tires and rims with no issue. The newer MTD I picked up last year is going to the lug tires and wheel weights put on for my hilly yard. The newer MTD wheel did not want to come off. I was able to get one off and one lug tire installed. I had to order a puller so I can get the other side done. I did try to start the MF14 with loader but it will not fire. I plan on checking to see if it has spark tomorrow since it wouldnt fire with starting fluid.

I finished my trimming today. I had to run to town and get a couple cans of premix for the summer. Trimmed around both properties. Then I decided the 5 hedges that are at the property line needed to go. Fired up the chain saw and wacked them out and hauled them down to my dads burn pile in the back field. We usually accumulate brush and burnable stuff then have a big fire July 4th.

I swear the grass I cut yesterday is already grown! I had the deck set on 3.75. I usually cut at 3 but it was so think i wouldn't have gotten through it other wise.

Yesterday while the weather was nice, Edy ran the trim mower around all the flowerbeds and buildings. I used the Kubota to mow everywhere. Then I edged the sidewalks and used the leaf blower to clean off the sidewalks.:)
In the afternoon we sat on the front porch in the rockers, reading, and enjoying the weather and got compliments twice from people walking by and from the mailman.

I saw a couple had mowed or were mowing this morning. One Lady must not want to mow any more as she was cutting it like a golf green. We have one area that is about 4" tall and the rest is spotty green. I might get the trim mower out for Carolyn tomorrow as that is what she prefers to use around the shrubs, flower areas and under the birf feeders.

So a little done today. Not snowing out, thankfully. Got the snowthrower off the Case 224 today. Wrestled the 200 lb or so thing to a pallet. And stored away. But maybe moved to a small barn for summer storage.
224 will now get greased and a oil change. And a general look over. Then the mowing deck will go on. And some time during the summer will be hooked to the hydraulic wood splitter.

It’s a bear to get off and on. Pretty well a two person job. The blower on this tractor is much heavier than the Case thrower. Ford LGT tractor is next in line. Blower will get stored in the little barn with the Case thrower. Same treatment for the tractor, But it does not run the wood splitter.

Any body want a poulan chainsaw, ?????????, come and get it. Extra saws and parts. Don’t miss out. Free.

Like Noel I pulled the blower and rear weight bracket off the Craftsman today. Its been sitting in this spot for over a month waiting for me to get to it. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to do.

I sold a Shopsmith Power Station on CL the other day. Guy came to get it today. Set it outside the door, picked it up with the loader and hauled it to his pickup in the drive. I don't lift or carry any more than I have to anymore. Little late in the game but work smart, not hard.

Parts of the yard needed some mowing so the body bag came off of the freebie Craftsman GT5000 since it was a nice day. Mowed for about an hour and a half. We need precip like some of you folks do as it was very dusty even though the grass is green. "They" say we could get s-word late Thursday and Friday! Lot of the dust was still leaves that didn't blow away.

The front yard only needed cut in certain areas. drove around and tried to decide what to do about the water line that was dug in last December. No decision of course. Just know I need to pick up some rocks that were dug up. Did notice some kind of rodents are digging in to the still settling dirt.

I stomped rocks into the holes to see if they dig elsewhere. Probably need to put a bunch of water on the dirt to get it to settle better before I think about seeding. Need to get the pump back into the well house pretty soon I suppose.
