Good roads both directions and Denver area traffic wasn't too bad for once, Rog.Safe travels. See you when you get back.
My sisters were very happy to have us there during the holidays, John. Last time we were was before our Mom died in 2009! We have been going during the non winter months since then.Have a safe trip. Enjoy time with the family.

I'm sure this place got along fine without me Chris but I sure appreciate the comment!Won't be the same around here without you!
Safe travels.
It wouldn't let me quote Daniel for some reason, but thanks for the thought, Dan! Must not have done it right. I explained the drivers above! And drive safe! In other words, watch for idiot drivers!
Thanks Chris! If anything happens to our other sister in the Denver area she may move up here.Welcome home. Too bad your sister has such a hard time with you leaving. Has she thought about moving closer to you? Maybe that wouldn’t be a good idea either.
It's mainly my oldest sister that has a hard time seeing us go. She is 10 years older than me and never married. She has a nice little house and a finished basement that we stay in when we are there. She's the one I stayed with earlier last year when she was having a tough time after a surgery. My other sister is 7 years older and has a husband. She takes it a little better when we go.After Dad passed, Mom was the same as your sister DAC. Glad we could make the 2-hour drive to see her and spend some time with her but never wanted use to leave. She never drove so getting to go someplace a go shopping was a big deal for her, especially her grocery shopping.
Good to see you back Doug..Thanks Chris! If anything happens to our other sister in the Denver area she may move up here.

The oldest sister drives well still but neither sister will drive at night anymore. Your Mom reminded me of our Mom, Rog, She never wanted to learn how to drive, but in 1963 when a divorce was coming, she made my dad buy her a car, a 1963 Impala, and teach her to drive at the age of 40.
We didn't do much today besides do some unpacking and watch s-word fall. Oldest sister had a very old digital camera I brought home to download pictures off of. Pics go back to 2002! Been working on that after going to Dollar General to get some milk and bread along with some beans for Loree to make chili! Sounds like good food in this crappy weather!

Sounds like my mom, but she basically had to learn to drive due to dad living in Michigan working for GM. She refused to go. The IBEW sent him there for work as they did all over the country during their married years. She got tired of moving. I still have her 2nd and last vehicle which she drove for 30 years.I have an aunt that has never driven in her life. She never wanted her license. She is in her 70s now. Pays her neighbor to haul her to doctor appointments, and to the store.
Thanks Bill! I appreciate the thought!Good to see you back Doug..
Carolyn is the same way. Don't like it when I drive on the 6-lane interstate through a city. She always wants to take the back streets.I still confidently highway drive, rural roads and in the small towns in my area, but not in the big cities. Too much speed and too many vehicles going too many ways, especially when I'm not sure of directions and turn-offs. I like to joke (?) that if/when I kill somebody I want it to be on purpose, not by accident.
Good luck on the installation, Rog!Yesterday morning I moved the base and the 2 side walls from the garage to the basement. Got the cardboard off so they could warm up to room temp. Will take both of us to get the back wall in Monday morning first thing. Little to ock ward and big for on person to try to handle. 60" wide and 75" tall if I remember right.
I agree with you about driving in big cities, Lorna! Unfortunately we have to sometimes. It's crazy that if the speed limit is 65mph, the locals all go 10-15mph faster. They blast by me like I'm sitting still. I'm sure your judgement will be correct when you decide killing some moron is justified---LOL!I still confidently highway drive, rural roads and in the small towns in my area, but not in the big cities. My sister has shown us lots of back street ways to get to places in the Denver area. She avoids using I-70, I-76 and I-25 in Denver and I don't blame her. Especially I-25! She won't go into downtown Denver any more, and I hope to never go there anymore too!Carolyn is the same way. Don't like it when I drive on the 6-lane interstate through a city. Thank you, Jim. We got the same tradition from our Mom! She was only 60 miles away so we saw her frequently. That helped keep the sadness to a minimum with her. I called her on the phone after work every day for the last 4 or 5 years of her life, and we went up there nearly every weekend. No matter how cold we had to roll down the windows and wave until we were out of sight!Glad you had a good trip Doug and back home safely. That was the worse thing visiting my mom and dad was when we had to leave. Mom would cry, we would hug several times, before we could ever leave. I’ve carried the family tradition that my dad always had is when visitors leave we watch them until we can’t see them anymore. My dad would always say it might be the last time.
On a more funny note Doug you need a longer hose for that gun lol.
I don't do football, Rog. I have a new problem about watching NASCAR though. We don't have cable anymore so I have to figure out how to watch! We have been streaming dirt track racing on Flo Sports. Last Saturday night there was a dirt micro sprint car race in the Expo Center in Tulsa OK. They had almost 1800 cars show up! There are several days of eliminations obviously, and 6 classes, with several of them for kids under 16. A 14 year old girl won one of the A mains. The last main event Saturday night had non wing "outlaw" cars and Christopher Bell, after a lot of previous races started 2nd. Outside pole. Kyle Larson struggled in qualifying races and had to start 14th. 55 lap race and Bell didn't get the lead until about mid race. The last 15 laps or so Larson found an unorthodox line and charged up to be photo finish but ended up 2nd with Bell winning! Larson was actually jumping the car up into the rough cushion mid turn and bouncing the car off the wall! Somehow he didn't break it or flatten tires. This is the first time Joe Gibbs has allowed his drivers to go race in other events besides NASCAR in many years. Ty convinced him to allow it.Race time is not that far away, but a lot of football to get through first.
