And more junk.

The grant I am working will not even pay for shower doors. Has to be a curtain. After all is said and done there will probably be doors on it. Carolyn thinks they are harder to clean, curtains get water spotted, etc. just replace them. The bathroom has a door with hinges that work so not concerned about clear or frosted glass.

And then there are those that don’t have any shades or curtains on the bathroom window. Might as well be out at the curb doing business.
Our master bathroom doesn't have any windows even---LOL!

You'd be surprised who'd want to take a look at this biff I mean buff body...!
Well biff or buff ain't a problem I have to deal with, Bill---LOL!

Yesterday we went and got a new refrigerator coming for delivery Tuesday. The one Loree wanted was a half inch taller than the space we have so had to cut the cabinet above it off to make it fit! Trailer house fridges can be weird sizes, and none real huge. That cabinet is pretty much useless since a person has to be on a ladder to get stuff in and out anyway. It's still there, just it lost most of the bottom support. Used my antique HF multi tool with a plunge blade and that particle board smoked the entire time stinking up the house. Good thing I haven't put up the new smoke detectors yet! I will take a belt sander to the bottom of it on Tuesday when I roll the fridge out of it's hole to empty it to be hauled off. The 19 year old Whirlpool is growling awful loud but somehow keeps stuff cold and frozen yet-cross my fingers! Hope it makes it until the new one gets here. Looks like it might be cold enough to just put stuff on the patio of the north side of the house to keep it frozen and refrigerated stuff I will put in coolers to keep cool but not freeze. Loree said the old fridge sounds like my tractors---LOL!

I had ideas of getting shop time today but ended up packing presents to ship in boxes and printing shipping labels since I can do click and ship with usps. Another request from Loree! She wrapped them first at least. I did do this stuff in the shop but it wasn't what I had planned! I get to take them to the post office in town tomorrow too!

Jeez I missed a bunch of comments!

Just curious, where did you find a 54" x 54" corner shower? I would really like to find one that size. Thanks, Fred.
Hi Fred. It is custom made to fit the footprint of the old corner tub. Made from a synthetic "stone" called "onyx". The walls, shelves and trim are also made of that stuff. The company isn't local to Rapid City. It is a Texas based company with a franchise in eastern South Dakota. The glass was custom cut at a shop in ESD too. Company is called Hill Country Tub and Shower. Don't have any idea if there is a franchise clear out in your area. We didn't want a fiberglass or plastic shower and surround. I would be willing to bet there are companies in your area that can do the same thing. Just gotta be prepared to spend 5 digits for something like this.

I checked at Menards and they don't list one that size. Might try Home Depot or Lowes.
I've been looking but no luck so far. There are 54" x 36" and 54" x 42" but that is all I can find so far. I'll keep looking, they have to be out there since we know of at least one.
Wayfair has 54X 60 & 54 X 42 but that is the closest I have found.
Hopefully my reply to Fred answered the questions. I couldn't get on here yesterday.

Doug, my last fridge purchase required me to cut my cabinet above also. But now the fridge top serves as the bottom of the cabinet. Just cut the bottom clean out, then cut off the bottom of doors for clearance!
That's a good idea, Daniel! The new one isn't quite tall enough to do it like you did, but we still could put light stuff in it. The cabinet bottom is still there, just the supporting structure under it is gone now. Any taller would have also been wider which wouldn't have been doable. I wasn't going to remodel that end of the kitchen now, maybe if it was 20 years ago! Like I said we didn't use that cabinet anyway. There was some stuff in there that was probably put in it when we got this place in 2006 and never looked at it since!

Thanks DAC, appreciate the reply. I really like the looks and design of that shower. I don't want anything custom made. I pretty much do all my own installing of whatever we need, till I can't. I'll keep looking till we find something that fits our needs.
Can't say I blame you, Fred! Custom made really takes it out of your hands. I didn't want to do that work myself anyway since it would be about this time next year before we could use it---LOL!

The unit we are getting is made by Kohler and backed with a 10-year warranty. Kohlers Sterling line. Made of Vikrell, a composite material designed by Kohler. Standard size is supposed to fit in the void area of the old tub/shower area. Like you said Doug, when dealing with manufactured homes, nothing is standard. This one does have the standard 2x4 exterior walls. We ran into the same thing you did on the fridge but didn't measure till we brought the fridge in the house. Then saw it was not going to fit. 20-20 hindsight.

Hey Fred are you familiar with the Schluter products for custom shower projects. I use to make all my shower pans the old way with the concrete, rubber membrane etc. up to about ten years before I retired. Once I started using their products I never looked back. My last one before I retired was challenging. It was custom made, I was limited to where I could move the drain, she wanted a custom glass enclosure but the Schluter products made it all work well. Check YouTube out a lot of info on there.

I'm finding this very helpful guys. I'd like to get rid of the tub and have just a shower. I never use the tub except to stand in when using the shower and even with non-slip treads on the bottom of the tub sometimes getting out can be chancy. I did some pricing with local carpenters and to get a custom made tiled shower stall will be running me around $4500.00 all told.

My stand alone shower sure needs some of those anti-slip stickies. I installed the shower a good 8+ years ago and have never slipped UNTIL last week, but just that, a slip...no fall. So think I'll order some right now, before one of us do slip and fall!

One thing that probably cost us a lot of money is that I hate ceramic tile. We did look at some options of going that route but I'm not going to clean grout and Loree decided that she wasn't either. My sister had so much trouble with ceramic tile she had her main bathroom completely torn apart and rebuilt without it. Her downstairs shower that we use is still tile. It doesn't matter how hot the bathroom is, that stuff is always ice cold to me---LOL!

Went to 2 Ace Hardwares that we have on the east end of Rapid City today to find some simple 1"X 1/4" prefinished trim to use to finish off the closet in the bathroom today. One of those Ace's has a full lumberyard and a store. They both treated me like I had a third eye in the middle of my forehead. No such thing. Decided to go up to Menards and found a couple of 10' sticks in no time that match the trailer house trim. Another thing that baffled them at Ace, was I need a couple of 2-1/2"x 16" 80 grit belts for an old Skil "Sand Cat" belt sander. Once again, no such thing! Menards actually had a 2-1/2" belt but it was only 14". Will just have to do a search I guess.

When I move the old refrigerator tomorrow I will have to use this heavy old antique to try to make the bottom of the cabinet I butchered up look a little less crude---LOL! Can't see it anyway, but I know how it is.
