And more junk.

Thanks for that Chris. I have no need to get in that thing. But was worried that if some day I need to, what would I do.

Got my inhaler prescription today and did feel some relief after taking it. Now just got to get established monthly and when all my meds have filled once, I'm going to look into mail order. It really doesn't matter since I drive by that Walmart once a week anyway.

My deal with the MRI was how loud all the various beeps and buzzes were. Even with earplugs it was hard on the ears. I could keep my eyes closed no problem so claustrophobia wasn't an issue even though the machine was 6" above my face. My biggest problem was having to hold my arms in the same spot for 20-30 minutes. First my hands went numb then my arms then the shoulders started aching. Couldn't just lay them at my side as the table was too narrow.

They had to stop giving me cat scans 7-8 years ago. they said I was getting too much radiation from all the ones I had to get for a few years. Probably now I would be cleared for more if needed.

Now the dang back issue. Next Tuesday I will be getting a blocker stuck in areas of the lumbar spine. Then I have to do the things that make my back hurt within 4 hours and report if it helped. If it did then they will probably burn nerves. Not a high success rate and like Roger said, only lasts about a year.

Gettin old ain't for wimps!

About 4 #14 scoop shovels of snow and I was done a couple days ago. They say do a little at a time and for a couple days I was doing as little as possible. PT is helping my back as it doesn't bother near as much, except for the left side where I pulled the muscle moving a darn bookcase on sliders, I was to lazy to empty out first. Have to wear a belt on it most of the time now. Going after a portable generator form Carolyns Neice this morning. New never run unit, she said. They bought it several years ago when her husband was on oxygen. He passed a year ago and she wanted to sell it for $350 so bought it to help her out. On wheels so plan is to roll it up on 2 - 2x4's into the back of the van. From what I can find on similar new unit it weighs around 100 lbs so not something I want to try liftin up into the van. One way or another it is coming home with us.

Using a shovel in the winter or gravel in the warmer season seems to really flare up the back anymore. What hurts the worst is standing at the sink doing dishes or stooping at the edge of the bed folding laundry! That little bit of bend is worse than bending clear over!

Hope you got the generator loaded and unloaded without too much pain during and after, Roger! Sounds like an unfortunate but good deal.

That’s for sure. And sawing logs in a pile. That’s nasty on the back too. Always something that hurts it. Even just standing for a half hour in the same spot hurts. I’ve learned to put up with it. I’ve had sore back for 45 or more years. On and off.
The strange thing is. Splitting wood with an axe helps it. I guess Im kinda weird.

Good you have a form of exercise that helps the back, Noel! I'm folding laundry and you are splitting logs---something is wrong with me---LOL!

Clear back in the 70's when heating with wood if my back ever got out of whack I would grab the splitting maul and split wood for a 1/2 hour and I would feel much better. There must be something to it. Then I would pick up the pieces off the ground and I'd be right back where I started. Didn't take long figure out the pieces need to lay there until another day.

Got a couple hours in the shop. Much easier to heat things up out in the lift room with warmer temps outside. We had some running around to do first.

The windmill tower is almost ready for paint now. Sprayed a silver on the top part that is pretty close to one of the MF silvers. It's a Rustoleum wheel paint.
DSCN6025.JPG

I want the edge of the platform red so masked that off and the middle hole where the tower goes through the platform. Then I scotch brited everything else, wiped it down and spot primered bare metal areas. Hopefully tomorrow I can scuff the primer, wipe it down and turn it red.

The windmill tower got turned red today. Just barely made it on paint. As you all know painting something like this has a lot of waste in overspray.

The forecast appears nice enough this week that I could probably get it put up outside but have not even thought about where!

Yep can see it on your floor..

Mighty fine lookking windmill. Just wait till the birds find it. Ha! Ha!
I hope with the spinning blade those flying poop machines stay away from it, Roger---LOL!

Swept it up today Bill! Probably enough there to paint a couple more of them!

That's going to look nice when you get it up. I'm still a big fan of Rustoleum paints.
I had a love-hate relationship with Rustoleum in the past. At one time I really couldn't deal with how long it took to dry. It seems nowadays that problem has been corrected. I used a lot of Krylon in the sign making days. It was the only paint that would dry on vinyl sign film. I don't do much fancy effects on vinyl lettering any more so it's less important.

Both of the colors I used were Rustoleum Chris. Also used Duplicolor primer.

That Ford red is almost identical to MF red. Really have to examine closely to notice any difference. Incidentally GMC red is very close too!
The "Steel" wheel paint is pretty close to MF Flint Grey.

Put it together and then decided to haul it outside. NW wind is blowing up to 25 mph.

The cameras were too fast to show it spinning. Can see it a bit in the last pic from the shop security camera. It pointed the tail to the SE and started spinning. Didn't grease it up yet.

Now the decision on where to put it. What I want to do is pea gravel this whole area from the red line to the existing pea gravel then put it somewhere in there. Don't want to mow or trim around it. Don't want to mow and trim around Loree's bathtub planter anymore either. One of these days I will hit that tub hard enough mowing to break legs off of it. Then the power meter pedestal would be in the gravel too, which would be nice.
pea gravel plan.jpg

The amount of pea gravel involved will probably shut down the big idea right then and there when I figure up about how much will be needed. Then rolls of the black barrier and some kind if edging will have to be considered/ Probably will end up doing a smaller area around the tub big enough for the windmill too. Would probably be more pickup loads than I want to do and getting a dump truck in there may not be doable either.

Got those test blocker shots in the lumbar area of my spine this morning and went home and did work that would usually make my back hurt. That work still hurts same as always. Got to call them in the morning to report my findings.

One of the things I did was fold my laundry. I do my own so I can always find all my socks! Then I went out with a flat blade shovel and scraped gravel out of the grass from plowing s-word back in December. The ice it was trapped in is now gone so I could get at it all. Still lots of ice on the north side of the house but I'm hoping it will all be gone by the time winter comes back it will be gone!

It was nice enough to have the overhead door open again so I rolled the generator I brought home last May out to the front of the shop. Was already hurting but figured I just as well pull on a recoil start engine too. I pulled 6 or 7 times until my senior moment went away. Why in the h3ll does "I" mean "run" on these dang kill switches! I pushed "I" rather than "O" and it fired right off first pull---LOL! I suppose it means ignition.

Let it run 15-20 minutes with a small load on it.
DSCN6046.JPG

Then I have a small workbench that has had junk piled on it for at least 5 years! I sorted the nuts, bolts washers and miscellaneous other junk on it standing up for close to 2 hours. The four hours ran out, so I pulled up a chair to finish. I went by the doc's rules!
DSCN6048.JPG

Now I Need to find somewhere to hang these boxes that were also piled on that workbench on top of the older junk.
DSCN6049.JPG

Maybe more on that tomorrow.

I sincerely hope those shots work better for you than they did for me. First shot lasted 4 days and second not even 4 hours. They said there was nothing more they can do. I had my hopes up but it wasn't meant to be.
Best of luck to you.

My first round of shots worked great. Second round not so much and third, nothing. Nerve burn lasted a month. PT is helping some, probably more if I would stop antagonizing it by the standing lifting and pulling.

DAC, your generator is the big brother to mine. Yours is a 5500 and mine is a 3500.

They didn't tell me there was a possibility I would lose the use of my legs. Went to leave the parking lot and couldn't use the brake. Luckily my left leg worked otherwise I would have ended up in a four lane highway. 15 minutes later everything worked again.

I don't know what will happen next since the test shots failed. I have another appointment tomorrow.

I may not get shots or nerve burning due to the above reason.

Your 3500 watt generator has an 11.5 HP engine, Roger? I think we determined mine is a 10 HP.

Trigger point shots only helped me 3 to 4 days. Told them no more shots as they weren't worth the feeling of being stung by a wasp multiple times!
I may have to live with it too, Daniel. Those test blocker shots felt like you describe, but deeper.

Dang, Chris! Sounds like they should have told you to bring a driver along! Glad control of your legs came back quickly.

<<Your 3500 watt generator has an 11.5 HP engine, Roger? I think we determined mine is a 10 HP.

Has a 1150 series engine, 250 cc. Formula I jkust found was HP = cc/15. If that is right then 250cc = 16.6 but that don't sound right at all. Nee to do some more checking on that.
