Wow Doug you could get $300. around here for just the tiller. I like the hood design on that JD. Have you tried Temp Search for selling things outside your area. Most JD guys don’t mind driving for a good deal on original parts or the whole package.
That's the downside of living out here in Bum-----Egypt, Jim. I still prefer it here though rather than near real big cities. RC is getting too dang big for me anymore. I have never heard of Temp Search but will take a look.
How does your wife and kids feel about living in the shop lol
Aaron's family would probably look at it as an adventure, but a permanent arrangement may not be so fun for them---LOL!
My wife credits 46 years of marriage to me almost living in my shop---LOL! I don't get on her nerves that way!
Wow Doug you have been busy I’m tired getting caught up with you. I’m glad all your home upgrades are done and now you can relax knowing that especially going into the winter. That car lift you got is like having a second floor storage area with no steps.
I am 99% certain anything on the lift won't be needed until spring, but there always could be that 1% that hits me upside the head! I can get up there easily on a 8' stepladder but there should be no need.
There is one more project going to happen the week after Thanksgiving. There is a big corner bathtub in our master bathroom we have never used. It is getting torn out and replaced with a 54'x54" onyx corner shower. Not a standard size so the pan and glass is custom. They are going to tear out the old shower and turn it into a closet. I will do the shelves in it.
The way we wire train tracks is to put power drops every few feet or between sections of track below the table. Running a main wire from the power source under the table connecting these keeps an even voltage. This would be aggravating on a track that’s not permanent though. Back in the mid 60’s one of my friends dad had his four lane HO scale track set up in their basement. It was huge, we could run our own cars on it but only when his dad was at home. I remember I was just as fascinated by the wiring under the table as I was the track.
I slightly stretch mine from the frame of a shelf unit hooking both hooks. This keeps them accessible without tangling or falling off.
The bigger HO tracks all have multiple power taps too. I think my old 6 lane had 5 taps and was a total of about 35' of track length. That little one I want to build should be fine with one power source. And like I said a regular transformer might be just fine on something like that with just me playing on it. Just hard headed enough to think it has to be battery. Also think 12V will be enough for my little playground too. All that is on hold now.
The Christmas tree is going up in the family room rather than the living room this year. The tree is so big it would be in the way of the bathroom remodel crew, hauling big stuff in and out. Our daughter is going to be here for several days next week over Thanksgiving and she wants to help decorate the tree, so we needed to get it put up before she gets here. Had to do a bunch of rearranging and cleaning but the tree is standing. Our son came over and gave us a hand on it. The tree has a bunch of those white "seed" lights and some areas aren't lighting up anymore so I have to see if I can get some locally. Will look tomorrow. I always put colored flashing and twinkling lights on it too. I should have the lights done before she gets here.
The season is upon us!
