Those tecumseh power sports engines were absolute garbage! I love tecumseh engines but I'll gladly dumpster one of the power sports!
If it only lasts a year you did alright. Put one of the Predator predecessors on a wood chipper and it worked great. never had a problem with it.I bought this 6 1/2 "Grayhound" engine around two weeks ago at auction for $55 .
Yea they are. Primer bulb to start ( maybe). Then you got to keep pumping it to keep it running. And no carb adjustments other than idle. Those tecumseh power sports engines were absolute garbage! I love tecumseh engines but I'll gladly dumpster one of the power sports!
Kind of what I was thinking. For the money these motors cost it makes you think twice if you'd even want to fix em.If it only lasts a year you did alright. Put one of the Predator predecessors on a wood chipper and it worked great. never had a problem with it.
How would you compare the difference in power between the Tecumseh and the Predator. Since they're 1 hp different.?
I bought this 6 1/2 "Grayhound" engine around two weeks ago at auction for $55 . Greyhound is what HF use to sell before the new Predators engines. This motor was a NOS that was still in its sealed unopened box. Has a manufacturing date of 2009. Little worried about sitting for 10 years. Put gas and oil in and ONE pull it started. Honestly I've never had a motor start so easily.
Put it on a go kart that had a Tecumseh power sport engine. Biggest piece of junk I ever pulled my back out over..!
That's what I read too. There seems to be number of Chinese knock offs. Not real familiar with any of them. But at their prices it's hard to not at least look into them.Grey hound and predator are different.
Greyhound was a clone of the gx200. The predator isnt.
Late 70's had the changeable tines. Intthe 80's they went to a welded on time 'plate' that I've seen a lot of them broken.Pretty sure you might have an earlier model rotospader. This one is probably a late 70's, maybe even early 80's model.
