That looks a whole lot better!Dropped the oil pump out, removed the screen, and cleaned it up. I think I'll open up the pump tomorrow and see how it looks. Might as well do it while I'm right there.

That looks a lot better! Nice and clean like it should be!Installed the bearing retainer/cover on the first reduction gear shaft and safety wire. Then the oil pump and hooked up the oil lines. I applied some RTV to the gaskets that I was able to reuse. Gotta wait for some help with the crankshaft install.

I'm surprised. I was guessing it would be 100 pounds or better. It would seem a lot heavier in this application... not like lifting something straight up. I know what you're saying about that "not as young as I used to be" stuff!!!Just weighed the old crank, 84.4 pounds. Not as heavy as I was expecting. I guess it feels a lot heavier when your trying to wrestle it through the side of the crankcase, that and I'm not as young as I used to be.
Be happy you got a AN, I think a 80, 820 and 830 crank are over 100 pounds.Just weighed the old crank, 84.4 pounds. Not as heavy as I was expecting. I guess it feels a lot heavier when your trying to wrestle it through the side of the crankcase, that and I'm not as young as I used to be.
