Looks really nice..
In running order ?
Another different thing on these is the clutch/pulley assy is on the end of the camshaft, not the crankshaft. This makes them turn the opposite direction also. That's a good looking H I've never see one up close did some research on them a few years back was interesting that they have no big bull gears, should make a nice project
Yea I forgot about the pulley / camshaft set they are probably a nice small tractorAnother different thing on these is the clutch/pulley assy is on the end of the camshaft, not the crankshaft. This makes them turn the opposite direction also.
quote: To get every bit of juice it could muster to the belt, Deere mounted the pulley on the end of the Popper's camshaft, eliminating the need for extra internal drive gears. Interestingly, the 100-cubic-inch engine in the H was one of the smallest horizontal two-cylinders Deere ever installed in a tractor.
And to a trained ear, each model has it's own distinctive sound.I grew up on "two-lungers", mostly a 1953-60 & a 1958-720D ES. Add to that some A's, B's & an MT. I've owned a B, 70D, two 720D's (including the one I grew up on), a 520, 40S, LA and now the H.
I just missed that two-cylinder sound!
