What are you currently working on??

Got a griddle for the bbq I made the grate for the other day. Clean it up with the wire wheel. Burnt it off. Still have to clean it and season it yet.

Never used a griddle on a grill. If/when I need one will probably use an old kitchen griddle. 94° F this afternoon. Won't be no grill done this evening.

Put some, what we call, rock dust down in front of sons garage to smooth out things. Raised in front of door 3”s in places. Will make it easier to get low dragging type cars in. Can’t stand those types of cars that drag on the ground with the rubber band type tires on 25” wheels. Jumpins.
Any way, had two steam rollers pack the rock dust down. Went crossways then back and forth. Worked good. Rock dust is great stuff. Used it many times. Pictures of the steam rollers.

Several of the multi fuel stoves call the ash left behind fly ash. Black fine stuff I have to clean out of the flue a couple times a year. I burn woo pellets and shelled corn 50-50.

Picked up a trailer load of wood today. About a 1/2 a cord or so. Tractor buddie of mine was cutting down a maple tree , so I helped and got the wood. Boy it was some hot doin that. It will be recut in the saw bench, that will be hooked to the ferguson tractor, so the wood will fit in the stove. It will also be split, and seasoned, so it can be used season 21/22.

Last night a windstorm took down a 30 foot long branch out of a cottonwood tree in the front yard. I didn't use a tractor as it would have taken a bunch of trips with the yard cart. Used the '72 GMC instead. I needed an 8' box---LOL! The '55 only has about 5' of useable box since it has a toolbox in it! There were several 6-10 foot branches too. Since I was at it, there were a few dead branches in the two old pine trees that I could reach so they got cut too.

Got a couple for projects going in the shop too. Painting a yard ornament "Dragon" for my sister in Denver, and trying to refurbish a mid 1950's 15" rim for my wife's uncle. It had some rust around the valve stem hole and he wants to run tubeless. Wasn't going to seal without a little help. Didin't get pics of that though.

Come get this wood while you are at it Noel!

The dragon.

I was hoping you’d deliver the wood Doug. Nice pile. Neat dragon.
What do you use the wood disks for ?

Had to put a new drive in the starter on the Cub 1018. Got that all back together and it would fire up and idle great but would starve out a higher RPM. Tracked it down to the fuel pump so will have to order one in the morning.

Only thing I've worked on recently is to replace the 14t front sprocket on my bike to a 15t. The motor is really high strung at 7500rpm on the highway.

1 tooth up on front put me at 6800 on the highway. Feels much better

edit: It redlines at 14,000rpm. So its a screamer.

They had griddles similar size in CTire flyer last week. Claim the list price is $169 on sale for $39...they just pull # out of the air.

Decided to make a small briquette bbq out of old Propane tank. Had some old cast grills so pre heated the areas I welded to make this grill fit.. have to wire wheel the tank or that paint going to stink! I think this be the last time we see it shiny.

Got the dragon yard ornament for my sister done this morning. She wanted it metalflake silver and I also added 3 coats of a UV clear brushed on. Need to get a pic in the sun.

Then I went mowing!

Working on the saw bench and getting it on the ferguson tractor. Cut holes in metal cover so it can be greased with out the hassle of getting at the bolts and nuts to get the cover off. Greased bearings, checked oil in gear box, adjusted belts, sharpened saw blade. So much easier to get at the bolts and nuts under neath the cover while it’s on the hoist. Not trying to rub it in that we have a hoist. Hehe.
