What are you currently working on??

My wife and I was traveling and stopped to see Daniel and he gave me this for my FF24 for a plow. Just need to adapt a mount for the plow I have. Kind of bitter sweet as this was for Kenny, I'll always have a memory linked to him.

The factory FF attachments used the formed tubes versus square tube.

I was off today, ran and got 60 gals of heating oil, $213, ouch. Already bought one last month, only 2 or 3 more this winter :(
I have a suction bulb and hose. I attached a piece of lead to tube to hold it in the drum. Get it running and go do something else.

I bought a new gate latch with lock plates, I want to start locking the side gate since my son got his enclosed trailer with his mowers in it. Got new one on, then installed old one on the other gate I installed a few weeks back, had to add a filler piece of 2x6.

Lot simpler and easier to get a pair of the water muffs to test that engine. They are like earmuffs only fit over the water intake ports on the lower unit and attach to a garden hose. I used a pair for the first start every spring for many years. Just a suggestion DT.
I think I have a pair somewhere. For smaller outboards I usually just use a 55 gallon drum
My son was talking about wanting one of those bulk tanks to cut the top off of to toss his random scraps into til he gets enough to be worth taking it across the scale. So once I get a tank, do what I am wanting to with it then it can go to him for his scrap

Thanks Doug that dry sink in that pic I built that from some repurposed wood from the same old house. Carol seen one she liked that was well over 100 years old and $450. I took some measurements of it and a few pics and built this one for the cost of the paint. I had to strip years of varnish and paint off of the door jambs then ripped them for what I needed. It’s a really nice fir wood.
The quality of wood back then VS now was so much better it seems Jim. Beautiful job building a "reproduction" dry sink!

Bittersweet for sure, Marty. Those of us lucky enough to have something that came from Kenny or was meant for him have something to help keep him alive in our minds. Very nice Daniel gave you the Plow adapter!

I’ve been diving into some projects too, mainly restoring an old tool I found at a garage sale. It’s always cool to see how these vintage machines can be brought back to life. I’ve got a soft spot for those classic models, so I’ll be curious to hear how your JD 111 turns out.

I do have. But I was trying to use up what I had, and that tank had the old style valve. I have 2, 20s on the tongue, and brought a full 30 as my spare. Actually looking for another 30 so my tank holder will work as I need another tank the same size.
I put an empty 20 on there as a place holder for the hold down, and I have a short hose that I have to use the new style tank valve with. On the 20 that I finished up (came out of dads shed, we're still cleaning out and getting the house ready for sale) I bought with on purpose TO empty out.
And I had to use "that" hose to hook up the 30 as the hose I had on the empty "place holder" tank, wouldn't reach. So I either fill a couple of my 20s (I now have a total of 4, they're now all empty) or I find another 30 to match the one I have.
I got all winter now to worry about that.
I almost bought a new 30lb as Menards carries them but I dunno how comfortable I'm gonna be having a propane tank on my trailer tongue that says in fairly prominent print, "made in Vietnam" on it.....
I went by the propane place by the campground, (everyone that lives around that area is on propane not nat gas so they're a pretty big outfit) while we were camping hoping to buy a new or good used, tested, full 30 pounder from them but he was out. Had tons of 20s lines up though.

I actually was sort of productive this afternoon! This geezer is kind of tired and very dirty---LOL!

Have a lot of old tree debris in the back yard in a pile. Was hoping to just burn it someday but it is just to dry, and it could be a fire hazard here if I leave it. The dump takes yard waste for free. Problem was by the time I got our son's old C-10 loaded, it was 4 pm. I didn't know the dump closed then. When I retired from the city, the dump closed at 5:30. They have a 24hr recycling center but everything has to be thrown up into roll off dumpsters. A person can just drag it out with rakes onto the ground when the dump is open. Oh well, I wasn't driving back home with a loaded pickup. There was a guy there that cleans up what people don't clean up off the pavement. Said he volunteers to do that! He came over and started helping unload! He even said he brings rakes and snow shovels as the doesn't provide them When the city did provide those tools they got stolen nearly every night. Even though it was close to his quitting time, he didn't even worry about it. We got it unloaded in about 20 minutes. I offered to pay him and he refused. Another guy with a trailer full came in when I was leaving and he went over and started helping them!

They don't want pickups heaped up over the bed. Just before I tarped it.

Still have 1 more load to go. Tomorrow is a high wind advisory so maybe Friday. Will have to cut up a few with the chainsaw. Longer than the truck bed.

Still working on clearing out on end of the wood shop trailer. Haven't done much the last couple days. Weather change and my knees do not like those conditions. Taking walls out to get material to close off two door size openings. Can then cut the roof off and keep the wins & weather out of the rest of the shop. Not much will happen after Monday. Going in for some minor surgery on my back Monday so that will take care of most activity for a couple weeks.

Man, I need to get my 85 running. Maybe if I get my carport enclosed, I can roll it in and work on it.

Prayers all goes well with your surgery Roger. Keep us posted when you feel like it

Hope you can get to it after the carport is enclosed, Marty!

Yes, Rog, what Jim said! This is going to put a hamper on you climbing up in the new blind you built this hunting season @chieffan!

Gotta get Tahoe running and out first, then rail buggy will probably take center stage before truck.

Took off work today, cleaned up and fixed stuff on the minibike that was never assembled right. Missing spacers, spacers in wrong spot, lose fasteners, etc. While test riding, I shut it off then when I tried to restart it, I somehow pulled rope again, recoil finger caught the cup, it broke out and spring broke. Thankfully I had another recoil for a predator, swapped out the spring and got it working. Drained oil, but didn't have right weight so I will buy some in the morning, friends will probably come in afternoon to look/purchase it.

If it is anything like the trial week the biggest restriction will be lifting. Main difference will be the control unit will be an implant rather than handheld. Not sure how that all works yet but will find out. Getting up into the blind is just going up a 7' step ladder. 24 X 32" platform in front of the floor. Grab bar outside and inside. Door is 35" X 45" so really easy to duck under and get in. Can stand up when inside to makes it nice. They are talking temps in the upper 70's most of next week, so the deer won't be moving much anyway. 23° here this morning so they were moving all over.

Sold my minibike today, young man was pretty excited. I told him once he learns to ride, I take it back and install torque convertor and maybe jet it a little to get him a little more uhmph.

Did more cleaning of carport took a few breaks and painted a set of rims and wheel weights, these will all be going on my purple Sears. Have to flip the weights and paint the other sides.
Using Rustoleum hammered gray as finish coat.

That Rustoleum hammered gray is pretty tough and very outdoor durable, Marty. I made a holder and a flag post a few years ago for our American Flag that is mounted on the front steps. On the second flag now but that paint is still looking like new! The mount and pole that came with the first flag only made it through a couple of western South Dakota wind storms. Flag lasted considerably longer.

Those will look great on the Purple Sears!
