What are you currently working on??

Was Dr. appointments today. Carolyn had hers at 10:00 for a shot in her hips to curb the pain for a few months. Her walking up the hill from feeding the goats is not good for her hips or back. Mine either, that is why I take the Ranger. My appointment was at 11:00. Got in early to get the staples removed from the back procedure. Had 6 where the put the two wires in and 4 where the put the control module in under the skin. Lower area is sore tonight for some reason. After that spend about 45 min with the rep from the pain stimulator learning how to run it. Same remote does the same thing as the trial did so nothing to complicated. All set up and running now. Just have to figure out where I want it set at for comfort and stimulation. Will take another couple weeks to heal at least.

Gonna mow this afternoon for probably the last time of the year mostly to run the gas out of everything. I ran the backpack leaf blower out the other day, my handheld Stihl BG86 earlier today (had to put some back in it to finish) my billy goat lawn vac (had to put about a 1/2 tank in that one too to finish)
And now I'm babysitting my "ditch on fire" (the leaf harvest thing/ ugh) round 2 for this year. I'll need that billy goat and the blower 1 more time before I put them up for the season anyway.
Gonna have to get a new bag for the billy goat, for next year, I got time to look for a better price than $190 before leaf harvest 2025..... I'd like to see if I can silicone/ glue on some kind of plastic barrier on the bottom as it's all cotton ish and there's holes worn in the bottom..... Rest of it is in good shape, I bought this bag 3-4 years ago. Bag that came with had a bad zipper, so I had to buy this bag before I could rub it the first time....
Think I paid $150-some for the bag I have on it now. But it's so far the best /least of evils to deal with leaves.
Every mower I've tried "plows" the leaves instead of rolling over them and chopping them up....
Lawn sweeper, manual rake onto a tarp and carry them to the ditch, manually rake and bag, leaf-blow them into a pile, don't work very well here, my yard is laid out such that a gt with a bagger is "out" (besides the "plow" thing because having to work and being dark before I get home I don't have time to mow every other day to keep up,
Rake or blow into a pile and use a chipper/shredder is iffy, the billy goat has been the best way I've found but dealing with leaves still sucks. I'd rather mow.

I needed hay, ended up buying out a lady who was moving. Bought 93 bales, I only needed 40 to 45. So today, I have to upload and carry my portion up a ladder into the hay loft and these are long heavy bales. Going to take a lot of breaks. My buddy is going to buy what I don't need.

I bought hay earlier this year. Got sone nice green alfalfa with some grass for $7 a bale. Standard length but tight at 70 lg each. Used the 2 wheel dolly to get them in the back corner of the hay pen for the goats. Been giving then a thin flat a day and they are cleaning it up...The guy I got it from does hay as his main business. Uses a preservative so can bale it while it is still gree and hold the leaves a lot longer. Leaves is where the food value is.

Lady is selling her farm, moving horses so she needed to sell all. I got it for $4 a bale, cut earlier this year. Most is standard grass hay, but some have alfalfa so I'm keeping those.

Have seen grass hay for 4-6 a bale, Brohm mainly. Neighbor used to give me big round bales each year. Outside 6-8 is moldy and usually junk. Then there is always areas inside that are bad. Lot of waste in those big round bales. Lot less handling for them for sure. Got to grind them to get ahead of the game with them. Goats would have a lot of stuff they would not eat so it can't be to great if a goat won't eat it.

My goats eat what I give them or they eat snowballs, their choice.

I'm beat, 45 bales carried around the barn, up 9 steps on ladder then into loft. Most bales were 70+ pounds. I had 2 that were so heavy I barely got them in the barn.
I'm taking thr last 48 bales to a buddy after work tomorrow since rain is coming in Tuesday.
Between dealing with hay the last 2 days and the wet weather I'm starting to hack and cough, this week is setting up to be crappy.

I started getting my 882 ready for the s-word. I took the mower deck off and put the plow on. I still have to put the tire chains on, but I’m going to wait a while yet.

Last winter I got a flat tire while I was plowing, so I put a different wheel and tire on until I could get a tube for it. I kind of forgot about it until a couple weeks ago. I got that fixed and back on.

I have been asked a few times how much the wheel weights on this weigh, but I didn’t know. Since I had to take the one off to change the wheel, I weighed it. 105 lbs. each, so 210 total. Big difference from the factory IH ones that weigh 26 lbs each. These are not fun to put on and take off.

They're some weights Nick. What were they on originally ? I got some 80# one's and I put them on hydraulic wheeled jack to lift up in place.. Kind of a balancing act but works..
Motorcycle jack works good too.

They were on the tractor when I got it. My 125 came with the same ones on it too. I asked the previous owner of that what they were from and he said he had them made at a local foundry that closed years ago. These were both local tractors so it makes sense. There are no markings on them.

I put the weight on the wheel first, then jacked the tractor up until the holes lined up with the studs and rolled the wheel on. It was a two person job. At least this one has lug nuts and studs, that makes it a little easier. The older ones, like my 125, just have lug bolts.

Holy crap, Nick, those are some massive wheel weights for a garden tractor! The two piece weights that came on my MF12G are less than half that per wheel. I have them on the MF8E now.

Pretty cool that you have 2 sets. You are a smart young man not to cuss on this forum by saying s-word :D

Had to meet with the insurance gal yesterday at 11:00. Finished and grabbed a sandwich at Hardey's then on to Walmart. Got the truck in for oil change & service after 1:45 wait. They were really busy with oil changes and tires. Carolyn picked up a few groceries. Got back home at 3 p,. To late to do anything constructive so didn't even try.

Sold my minibike today, young man was pretty excited. I told him once he learns to ride, I take it back and install torque convertor and maybe jet it a little to get him a little more uhmph.

Did more cleaning of carport took a few breaks and painted a set of rims and wheel weights, these will all be going on my purple Sears. Have to flip the weights and paint the other sides.
Using Rustoleum hammered gray as finish coat.

I really like that hammered paint it’s very durable. Did the hammering look develope like it should sprayed on the primer. I done the same thing you done and it looked just like regular paint. I used the same paint on bare metal and it hammered out well.

You and me both. Even got to turn over on my back a couple times last night. Haven't had to turn it on yet this morning but have the controller in my pocket.
Do you just use it when you need it and how soon do you feel relief once you turn it on. I always thought you set them up to stay on depending on how active you are. Anyway glad it’s working for you.

Carol had a herniated disc several years ago. She wore a TENS unit for almost a year that she would turn on when she needed it but was advised not to use it more than she needed.
