What are you currently working on??

Back to work today but the last 4 days have been spent between 2hospitals. I took my wife in for outpatient surgery on Friday, 2 miles from my house, and the next 3 at a hospital in Chicago 55 miles away, watching her brother die. He had a cancer called multiple myeloma. Discovered 2 years ago at stage 4. I can't get my mind back on track.
and the week since having been spent dealing with BS from an "entitled-feeling" girlfriend, her kids from an earlier relationship, and Facebook.... they have made total Azzez of themselves and in attempted defense of the family my son has been made out by them to be the azz.... but anyone within the family that has seen the BS, knows better...… but the girlfriend and her "posse" including a bar owner who had put together a benefit that was planned a couple months ago, trashing anyone that would stick up for the brother in law, mother in law or us.... we fear this "benefit" will be a sham, actually being a "beer and cigarette fund" for the girlfriend, rather than what it should be. I think it should be called off because the person who it was set up for, is no longer with us. but the girlfriend and this bar owner "friend" are insisting on it still happening...… some of you guys might have seen what I put on the other site which was starting to go in a direction I was hoping it wouldn't..... at one time I put "I'm done posting in this thread" but wound up deleting that line when I saw some of what had been added....

Don't you love it when they bring "a few things to wash" and ends up being 4 bags full. Daughter has her own washer and dryer. Don't need any dressers as the dryer serves that purpose. Lot of times I have seen the granddaughter with two different socks on but guess a lot of kids are doing that now days. Kind of like in inside out sweat shirt phase., shirt collars turned up, etc.

I got a good laugh out of the no need for a dresser comment! The sock deal is why I do my own laundry! I tell the wife to leave it alone if she offers to throw my stuff into a load that she's going to do.I never end up with an odd number of socks.

Speaking of laundry, the bearing and seal repair on the washing machine got finished today after getting the correct seal in the mail today. Did two loads of towels before I put the back on it so I could watch for leaks and not a drop anywhere. The retainer in the outer tub that also holds the bearings were badly corroded in the seal mount area. It's a matter of time before it corrodes enough to bypass the seal I suppose but if we get a couple more years out of it I'll be happy.

After that adventure I put the blade skids and tire chains on the MF8E as well a gassing it up. "They" were saying possibly 5 or 6 inches of snow but maybe an inch fell. There's ice under it since it rained for a couple hours first. Roads are real bad.

No tractor work today. Did some more laundry catching up and then the door handle for the Camry came in the mail. Rest of the day was prep and paint. Dug out the old airbrush and changed it's color. The car is 23 years old but the handle had to be at least the same color even though the paint job is old and faded and the handle and it's paint is new. About 20 bucks in the whole deal.

Doing final coat on one door frame that was super challenging due to the nature of my unsquare home.

Had it looking good enough that I could sand it smooth. Its half dry and my 2 year old daughter slams her hand right in the middle of it. Well there goes another 24 hours....

95% of the room is under primer. Except the spot that will have to be redone tomorrow then dry for 24 hours again. Might go get some easy sand 20 so I can get it done faster....

My wife is beating me up wanting this living room done so we can use it for Christmas....

Floor, paint, trim, ceiling needs textured and other finishes touches done. So much to do....

Finishing drywall...my favorite

X2 :(:(

Worked on my old house, doing some plumbing in the half bath remodel. Didn't get anything done though, supply lines are too lone for sink, I forgot my new toilet shut off valve at home so couldn't put that on. I did scrub the toilet good to go back on. Pick up new lines tonight and hopefully get some work done, but I have to haul water for the house and animals first, sure will be glad when we sell old house to get money to drill a new well.

been there a few years ago. This was just a 1/2 bath, replace flooring, vanity, medicine cabinet etc. I will be doing another bathroom gut and redo for my mom once I get some free time.

Been working on the ford thrower. Put another chute on it which is taller and more gradual curve so it will throw better. Maybe. The chute is off a Noma Canadiana walkbehind blower. I may get to try it tomorrow. If after a few try’s it works reasonable, I will figure out a remote system for the top deflector on the chute. Drilled two more holes on either end of chute. Now turns about 200 degrees instead of 180.

Door handle replacement the other night on the Camry went fine except my hands are bigger than the Japanese auto maker designed to fit inside the door to undo the plastic clips for the linkage. Oh well got it done. Paint matches a lot better than I expected.

"They" are saying significant snow around 8" Saturday. The '55 GMC has been flooding and even not starting at times so it was time before the weather hits to at least get it in the shop tonight and maybe tinker with it while the snow is falling. I had to put the booster on the battery as it flooded bad enough that cranking killed it. Got it to try to fire but there was gas running out the vent on the carb. OK, stuck float. Got the soft hammer and whacked the carb a couple times, opened the choke and floored it. It sputtered to life and it running well for the moment. I haven't had that problem for 5 or 6 years, when ethanol free gas became available out here in the valley. It happened a lot with the dang ethanol.

I had to move some stuff around in the shop so the MF8E could be positioned to get out and plow snow. "They" sound pretty sure of the accumulation this time so we'll see if I get some quality seat time on the old tractor!

Been fighting with the Sears, my buddy determined I had the good old ethanol issues swelling the seat. I pulled float and seat out and let them dry out it in the house for a week. got it all back together and let it run for about 10 mins last night and it didn't stall. I will be adding Seafoam to tanks from now on, hopefully that will counter the ethanol somewhat.

Been wanting to retrofit a power window motor to my Ariens 48" to pivot the chute

Well the thrower chute works. And didn’t break. :) Yet. Threw the plowed wet snow great. Never plugged up either.

The Grandson was laid off his construction job yesterday so starting this evening I put him to work on a project. The Fordson Dexta has been having clutch problems so it's time for a tear down. Everything went well and the rear crankshaft seal was even dry. :)
Tomorrow we should have it back together except for the radiator which I'm replacing. As you can see in one of the photos one of the fingers on the clutch is higher than the others. The clutch would no longer release. Getting new pilot and throw out bearings also.

You guys that blame ethanol for your fuel problems, if you don't want to update you carb kits at least put a fuel shut off in the fuel line. All of mine have it either at the tank OEM or in the line some convenient place. No ethanol problem and run it in everything. Most needed the carb rebuilt when I got them anyway.

Messed with the EK10 yesterday. Had to repair both front tires as they had rim leaks. Have more tinkering to do on it yet but it will go for now if I want to use it wit the thrower. Brake clutch cable need tightened, had a cable tightener around but could't locate it. Key switch don't kill the engine when turned to off. Get a bit of a spark when the negative battery cable is hooked up. Just tinker stuff but to chilly in non heated shop today.
