The pulley has to be parallel with the blade I would think. It should be about what you said though, a quarter inch low in the front the way I did it. I have never owned a new set of blades! Besides that there is no way I can even see and measure the center blade with the deck in mowing position. I can see part of the right blade. Then there is the issue of getting back up off the floor trying your method, Rog! I'm glad you are in good enough shape to do that. I sure ain't---LOL! I might could do it that way on the lift but didn't take the time.


Hope you can get us some pics of the new wood shop lit up when he can get the power to you!

When I built my work bench for the tractor mowers it has the center boards removable. Can slide on back and for the to get the measurements of the blades in different positions. Can't get down and back up very easy now with my right knee screwed up big time. Need my cane or walking stick 99% of the time. Your lift would work great for that task.

Going down to try and get another outlet or two put up. Wood shop will have 5 - 4ft. 2 tube fluorescent lights so will be plenty lit up. All salvaged from the old wood shop.
 
Still not having very good luck making things happen around here! Didn't mess with the MF1450 as It is time to get the RV winterized. Might have a freeze Monday night.

I figured draining the water tanks would be simple. NOPE! Put the truck where it was nosed uphill and a bit to the left for the water to shift more towards the drain.

Figured out the drain valve was a little gate type. Pulled it up and checked outside. Was a drip to a small dribble!

Probably would take a couple days to drain at that rate! First I stuck a piece of wire up the hose but with an elbow inside, it didn't produce any results. Pretty hard to reach too. I was hoping there was an easy to get at fitting that a garden hose could be hooked to but of course not! Started raining about that time too.

Thought about how to blow air up into the tank to hopefully clear whatever was blocking it. Of course that just frees the debris until it gets caught in the line again but no other choice.

Came up with an old tapered faucet washer in useless junk around here and was able to stick it on the end of an extendable blow gun. Charged up the air tank and tried it.

Was already laying on my back to slide under when I remembered to take pictures.
It seemed to help, have a full pipe dribbling out now but that tank sure needed a man size drain in it.

The same dum@$$ engineer that designed 1/4" pipe oil drains on gearboxes and motors to drain heavy lube out of at my former job must have come up with this! Oh most of the time we had to refill those gearboxes through a 1/4" pipe fill hole. It would be a super slow job when oil change work orders came up during the coldest part of winter. These were outside pieces of equipment. Then management would b!tch about how long it took, and complain we had to have a running pickup nearby to warm the oil before it could be attempted to fill them. Us grunts at work always discussed a hunting season on engineers but so far none has happend.

I got on a rant---again!

The water heater was simple to drain at least. Need to find the valves to isolate it to keep RV anti freeze out of it. Then I discovered another problem. Figured I would run the generator for awhile under a load to exercise it a bit. Generator started fine but when I turned on the A/C it wouldn't take off. Don't know if the generator quit gennin' or if it is a thermostat or inverter issue yet. Right after we got this thing in August I load tested the generator the same way and it worked fine. We were always plugged into line power when we were out rv'ing since, so this was the first time it was tried again.

Hopefully that water tank will be drained by tomorrow. I know that there is debris in the tank that needs flushed out somehow but I better focus on winterizing and take that on this coming spring.

The tank is empty now! Thankfully whatever was blocking it never plugged it off again.

Need to work on my trailer today or tomorrow. Last time used I caught a high spot in the dirt road and tore the wiring off to the right trailer light. Also need to get the auction winch mounted to the front some how. Bought the winch a couple years ago for that purpose and never put it on. Now I need it Tuesday afternoon to pick up a "dead" cub cadet LT, probably a parts tractor. Lot nice looking than Carolyn's and both are the 1000 series. Seller said has new battery this year, new blades last year, new belts the year before. Never could get it started this year. Got it for $125. Got the cheep Kohler that likes to self ventilate with about 300 hours so will see what happens when I squirt gas in the carb and turn it over.
 
This is what we're doing for the next few days. Raccoon lake campground in Indiana, covered bridge fest is happening. One of these years we're gonna be able to come for the whole 10 days but not this year. Gotta head home Wednesday as Thursday and Friday I have renewal by Andersen coming to replace 1/2 of my windows. The front picture window has needed it for probably at least 10 years now, getting worse every year and the wife has been begging for a bay window to replace it, I'm not so sure because I've seen people that have had them and have fallen away from the house when the house hasn't been built for them from the getgo ..and just like every home doesn't look good in blue, every house doesn't look good with one but she's not hearing it.... I hope I'm not asking for problems by going with one.
