What did you do with your tractor today?

Haven't had much pain lately other than where they work on the back. Had to go up to 2 Tylenol at a time to get the pian tolerable. Slept in bed all night last night for the first time in a while. Hurts the worse when I get up from sitting position. Need to get back on the recumbent bike again as it is to nasty to go outside for a walk. 40°, with 36 wind chill and 18 mph wind out of the North.

Improving quickly, Rog! I'm a wimp. No way 1 Tylenol has ever or will work for me! I liked ibuprofen but doc said I was abusing it. He said to try Tylenol. Works marginally.

Due to the other meds I am on I am not supposed to take any OTC meds like Ibu., etc. I got up during the night the other night and bumped the side where the big bandage is on the to corner of the dresser. Didn't really hurt much then but yesterday morning till last night, just touch that spot and get a sharp pain. I think the point of one of the staples it sticking me? Using the cane more than the back brace but a have a new brace on the way. May be here today depending on when they get it shipped out. Still not doing much, getting papers together for a grant app from the VA (that means headache), been working on the one shot gun I got at auction. Fitting a forearm to it now.

Sure hope they don't have to fix a staple that worked out of position, Rog! I ordered one of those back support belt things from my medicare store. Tried it the other day, and I think it hurt worse than without it.

Actually got some seat time on the MF1450 today. The plumber that did the under-house plumbing and heat tape wants an old Craftsman LT that has been in the weeds out back for a few years. Took the drag off the 3 point and mounted the crane. Battery was too low to start. Put it on the charger for awhile and it fired right up. Definitely needed the front weights but I was able to lean my fat @$$ forward enough to make the front wheels turn enough now and then to get that thing drug around front. Wheelies ain't fun when turning is needed---LOL! I didn't get any "action" pics.

The plumber, Tim, is an old friend I knew from racing clear back 40 years ago. Hadn't seen him in a long time but it was good working with him again. Never lettered any cars for him. His trailer is disassembled because his brother just painted it. Tim is going to get it put back together and come get this pile of scrap soon.

Feels a lot better today but still have that one small spot that gives a sharp pin prick type pain. Only happens once in a great while. Went back to my cheap HF back belt and getting a long fine. Therapist that fitted my good belt said to be sure and loosen the belt wehn you sit down, then snug it up again when you stand up. Been trying to remember to do that, but then I get up with both hands full, take 3 steps and the belt is down to my knees. Coming up the basement steps is the worst. Need one of those staire lift chairs. Would like to find a good used on but not from a factory sales place.

I see those stair lifts from $400 to $1000 on Facebook Marketplace around here.

I'm kind of glad that we couldn't have a basement where we live, Rog. My sister has steep narrow steps in her basement. They really wear on me when I spend an extended stay at her place.

The MTD 660, the one in the avatar pic, did it's first real work for around 20 years today. Not mowing now like it did for 25 years around here, as the deck is shot. Just pulled a yard trailer around so I could pick up roots left by the backhoe and larger branches that have been shedding from the cottonwoods.

It runs great, transaxle feels good but the turning radius sucks! "Give me 40 acres and I'll turn this rig around"! You gotta be old to remember that song---LOL! I need to get the steering rack pulled off this thing and figure that out. Front wheel bearings started squeaking too. Pretty sure they are ancient, sealed bearings. It originally had little hubs on it but my uncle who owned it before me wore out the bearings and wallered out the hubs beyond use. It has one of those 3/4 loop steering wheels so the hood can be opened, but I figured out today that it's a lot easier if I turn the open part toward the seat so my fat belly clears the wheel to get off and on---LOL! Don't remember having that issue in the 1980's and 1990's when I was mowing with this thing!

Actually one reason we keep the freezer down there is so we go down there on occasion. Grandkids play down there and visitors stay in the bedrooms. . I’m thinking about getting another upright freezer for upstairs as my wife is having a harder time with stairs. Especially with her hands full.

That would work for 90% of the time for sure. Closet space is at a premium around here. Like most, we have to much stuff to put in too small an area. Had to cut the center section out of a double recliner couch to have room for the second lift chair. neither of us will part with the liftchairs, now that we are used to them. They sleep good in about any position.

We still get out outdoor exercise, at least under normal situations. I haven't done a thing for the last 10 days but hopping to get released to get back to doing some things again tomorrow. I used to go for a walk with our dogs but when my back got to bad to walk very far, she took over. Walks about 1/2 mile every day weather is fit. I took care of the barn chores plus all the other acreage chores that need done. Still have one storm damaged building to get back in the dry.
