What did you do with your tractor today?

Can't figure it out, pics out of focus!

The tractor was on the small cart behind it. I hooked up with pickup to pull but cart frozen in ground and it heaved up, discharging the tractor before breaking loose. Couldn't do that twice. No damage, hood just not shut tight at moment and steering wheel was bent when I dragged this jewel back from scrapyard. I was surprised how easy tractor could be rocked back on it feet with little effort

I took my front PTO driveshaft off and took it to Parts For Trucks so I could order rebuild parts. Spoke to the guy in the driveline shop and at first he was skeptical, but I gave him a bit of a reach-around and he dug a little deeper in his supplier catalogue and came up with all the parts.
I knew that rear u-joint looked suspicious when I went to grease it and there was no nipple. Going to be close to $250 all-in.

I thought I was all ready for winter but the first heavy wet snow was the canary in the coal mine. Just got my electricity back on 30 minutes ago. It was down to 43F in the house.
Ahhhhh winter and NS Power. Shoot me.

Had the LGT 165 Ford out and cleaned up some snow. Didn’t want to go out. But had to I guess. At least the tractor has a cab. I use to like getting out in the snow with a tractor. Not so much now.
Tractor and thrower worked great.

I decided to replace another couple parts. In the end I'll have a spare/used/sketchy shaft and a solid new one.
The first and second pics show the cap and rollers that departed and set everything crashing around making a hell of a noise.
The third pic shows the previous owner's attempt to fabricate a slip-yoke (square peg in a round hole), which worked to a point, but was sloppy and might have contributed to the bearing fail.
All these parts will make reasonable emergency spares but the last two pics show all the new parts I ordered which are all that's necessary to assemble a completely new driveshaft.

I wonder if I'll be all set for winter yet. *Grumble*

Good thing I'm not a cranky old man ;)

More snow to move today. Seems the green and yellow thing won’t start. So used the MF 12 with rear snowthrower. Worked great, just not as comfortable to use.

Pretty cool you have multiple tractors to spread the work load out on, Noel!

The MF8E had a four hour workout today, and I'm the tired one, the tractor was willing to keep going. Letting him sit in here with the heat on so I can squeegee the water out the door. Here's a link to more pictures.

It was nice out a few days ago so I decided to do something I've been wanting to do for a long time.. We have had this thorn in my side telephone pole laying on the ground since we moved here, almost five years ago. I wanted to use it for something but can't decide on what. I can't back the GT's up to my wifes chicken coop for cleaning & a wheel barrow isn't my friend anymore. I haven't used my newly rebuilt MTD990 much because I've never had good tires on the back. It's had the original turfs since I bought it but they were too bad to put tubes in. I put a set of truck snow tires on it back in the summer to do for awhile. They do really well with about 15lb's of air so the side walls will flex a bit for traction. There about 3" taller than the 29" originals & makes it feel top heavy. I get a little nervous on this one around our place on hills. For now all I'm going to do is swing this pole around so I can back up to the coop.

Moved the workers into the relocated shed thanks to Hulk II. Now I have space to try out the new welder, and figure out how the Craftsman Pro goes back together.

Nice job Larry always enjoy your videos. I wouldn't have thought you could do it without it digging in so much but you had it attached low worked out good. I had one of those little sheds at a place we had years ago. It looked like crap but kept everything dry & protected.
