What did you do with your tractor today?

Just used the GT5000 to mow our yard, parts of the ditches out front it can do without the deck hanging up and Diana's front yard. Her brother was able to do the back yard. I was in a hurry and the 54" deck will cover a lot more ground that the 42" on the MF12G. Did some trimming around the house area too.

Still waiting on the fuel pump diaphragm for her Murray. We are going to Aberdeen, SD tomorrow morning and won't be home until sometime Monday. Finish her tractor after we get back.

Serviced the cub 2862 today. Greased it up, replaced a drive in zerk in one spindle, sharpened the blades, checked it all over and is ready to go mowing again. The right hand blade was kind of beat up. Hit a steel fence post last fall. Lucky all it did was nick the blade some. About one more sharpening will pretty much take care of the nicks. Was still cutting OK, just didn't look very good.

Wfe wants to change some of our fencing.
Getting rid of some split rail. Used the Roper to lift sime posts ou of the ground. 90 feet and 10 posts yet to go. No hurry since new fencing is at least 3 weeks out.

Supposed to be rainy the rest of the week. So I pulled the rest of the posts and rails this morning. Put them on Craigslist and Marketplace. Made two trips to the village lot for dirt. 5_5 gallon buckets each trip.

I did have a couple stubborn ones. Most were pulled by hooking the mid point on the arm. One I had to stand on the footboards for extra weight. Another required hooking on to the arm closer to the actuator to get it moving, then rehooking further out to clear the ground. I had to do all of the chain positioning, and ran the control standing next to the tractor. Wasn’t going to get on and off the tractor an more than I had to.
The wife refused to be my “hooker”. :D

Had a buyer for the fencing within an hour of posting. Making a two hour drive this evening after work.
I advertised them for half what i paid for them 20 years ago. That is a third of what they cost new now.
Guy is extending his own fencing and loves the fact that they are “aged” and will match his fence.

We had company twice today, so all I got done was mowing our yard. Didn't get started until 3:30 so I had to use the GT5000. Wanted to use the MF12G but the 54" deck on the 5000 VS the 42" deck on the 12G is much faster.

There is some big ugly fungus growing in a small area under the 2 old pine trees!

Was a nice day for mowing even though it was pretty breezy. Almost no dust and pretty cool. GT5000 ran fine.

Used the MF1450 And the mobility scooter. Had to haul a couple of flower pots around back of the hose to replace a couple of those fake barrel halves that were rotting away.

Had to get the drag out of the weeds behind the shop.
IMG_2667.jpg

Loaded them on the drag.
IMG_2668.jpg

Unloaded them where she wanted and put the tractor in the shop.

Hooked the garden cart to the mobility scooter.

Shoveled the dirt out of those wooden planters, and put in the yard cart .Busted them up and put them in the garbage.

Soooo, I have repaired the Case 224. The leak was coming from the pump. Lucky me, I bought two used pumps from a fella in Ontario back when I first fixed up the Case 224, which needed a pump at that time. So I fitted the other pump on and tractor is now working and driving again. Without any oil leak.
Two bolts were a little loose on one side of the pump. This was enough for it to blow the o ring out between the two half’s of the pump. So if any of you have a Colt, Case or Ingersoll tractor with this style pump, you should check the four bolts holding the pump together.
