I was beginning to wonder after trying for hours to get the starter working. I thought I had thoroughly cleaned all of the connections and still nothing. Talked to my brother and he told me to check voltage drop and how to do it. Turns out I didn't get the glaze build up on the + battery post and cable clean enough the first time. Really scuffed them up and it works better than it did back when it got parked years ago.Good deal on getting it running not that there was any doubt
Those aren’t cylinders they’re funnels.I think it had around .015 taper in the bores so it has a little piston noise.
Funnels are a good way to describe them. Back when we did this tractor we couldn't find any parts for it so we went with the saying "run whatcha brung". I think there is a place in Missouri that makes new pistons for these tractors. Those aren’t cylinders they’re funnels.
Seriously, a little piston noise never hurt anyone and you’re not going to be working it hard.
Didn't see any smoke in the video so the funnel cylinders ain't a problem to that old engine!Funnels are a good way to describe them. I should have had the camera rolling when I first fired it up. We had ATF/Acetone mix in all of the cylinders for the fire up that smoked a bit but cleared up pretty quick.Didn't see any smoke in the video so the funnel cylinders ain't a problem to that old engine!

That's good excuse for smoke, CJet. Main thing is the smoke goes away after it burns off!I should have had the camera rolling when I first fired it up. We had ATF/Acetone mix in all of the cylinders for the fire up that smoked a bit but cleared up pretty quick.
Sure is a different engine configuration on that tractor. Didn't know if I should turn my screen up or down..or side ways..My brother came over to work on the MM ZTU this afternoon. We chased all of the threads on the studs and nuts and proceeded to install the head. Its all torqued down now and ready for the carb to be installed. We have to check the fuel tank to see if it needs cleaning and make sure the starting system operates but should be ready for start up soon.
Minneapolis Moline always kind of did their own thing engine wise.Sure is a different engine configuration on that tractor. Didn't know if I should turn my screen up or down..or side ways..
