1986 JD 316 Repower

I'm rather spoiled with the foot pedal. That's why Alice got one! First one was on my Ford LGT 165. And I used a parts LGT to make up Alice's pedal!

I ran a Toro wheel horse at a company I worked for in 2001. First foot hydro I ever used. Junk tractor but had nice controls. The output shaft snapped off the motor and dropped the pto on the ground. But we had a few cub hydros. 109, 129, 149 and a 169. All hand hydro! Then picked up the bolens it has a rocker foot control with cruise. Works great! New deere had the twin pedals and I really like that.

While I had the box blade (140lbs) attached, I stacked all four suitcase weights (160lbs) on it. Lifted that okay, not sure how much more it would lift though.

Update! I think I finally found the no-start issue. Seems the ignition module is faltering. I checked it a while back per the service manual and all was good. Checked again today and it's NO-GO! The manual says to connect a volt meter (red) to the NEG side of the coil and and the other lead to ground. Turn the key on and you should have battery voltage. Turn the engine over and the volts should drop to around 1 volt and come back up. Mine stays at 1 volt (or less) no matter what. I got hold of Boomer and have a new module coming. This means pulling the engine to get the flywheel off. Hope this cures this issue!
huh.... the only Onans I have ever played with had readily accessible points and condenser, never had the chance to mess with one that had any sort of ignition module. sounds like a PITA.

Kind off! But if it's working right, it'll fire nearly the first round! I'm trying to get used to this one starting that quick!

Going out this afternoon.

Nice job on the adapter. It's like a piece of art.

Since I now have a new bearing for the PTO, I need to fix a part for the mower deck mount. I don't have a pic as yet so a parts pic will have to do. It is part # 29 (red dot). Mine has a bunch of bubble gum welds holding it together. I found a piece of 4 gauge (.224" thick) to replace the 11 gauge (.120") metal. I'll reuse the round tubes, just clean the excess welds off them.

I'll see about some pics of the mess today and start cutting out the new piece of metal. I need something to do, may as well fix this mess. Then I can put the mower on if I feel frisky!

Here's the draft bracket! It's ugly and the ends are not true.
