B.E. made steam shovels back in the day, there is also a connection with Britain, they have Bucyrus Rushton, who also made steam shovels.Very cool look back in the day, Jake! What little I know of Bucyrus sounds like they build tough long lasting machinery.

I was thinking my Son's was diesel. I will have to check with him and see what size it was and gas or diesel. I remember it looking like yours. Especially the blade and lift arms. Was thinking it was diesel Nick but yea spark plug holes are for sure.
Probably two different head gaskets..although IH had some unique motors back then.I was thinking my Son's was diesel. I will have to check with him and see what size it was and gas or diesel. I remember it looking like yours. Especially the blade and lift arms.
Thanks Chris.I'll see if it's still hanging where I remember it being. You can have it for the postage if it's the right one for your needs.
It is gas. T9 was gas, TD9 was the diesel version. Was thinking it was diesel Nick but yea spark plug holes are for sure.
There was also a T6/TD6 that looked similar, but was a little smaller.I was thinking my Son's was diesel. I will have to check with him and see what size it was and gas or diesel. I remember it looking like yours. Especially the blade and lift arms.
Yeah, I would guess they probably are different.Probably two different head gaskets..although IH had some unique motors back then.
You’re right, like starting on gas and then switching over to diesel. Seems like my brother in-law had a M or Super MD that did that. He called it a low compression diesel.Probably two different head gaskets..although IH had some unique motors back then.
Yea that's the one I was thinking about. Still don't know how that worked..You’re right, like starting on gas and then switching over to diesel. Seems like my brother in-law had a M or Super MD that did that. He called it a low compression diesel.
"Squatted" it---LOL! I knew that was a joke---you are a smarter young'un than that, Nick---LOL! That free quad is a great workhorse for you! Looking forward to seeing the 250 project!A little bit of an update. I have been using this quad quite a bit recently, I am happy with it so far. It’s been running great, and I have not had any issues with it yet. I used it a lot plowing snow, and it did great with that. I have put around 100 miles on it so far.
The rear shock was bad. I just put a new to me, used one on it. It rides pretty good now, no more bouncing.

And I squatted it!

Just kidding, I would never do something like that, but it looked funny, so I had to get a picture of it without the shock in there.
I also built a wooden box for the back, so I don’t have to tie every little thing down that I’m hauling. I built it out of pallets. I just have a couple bungee straps screwed to the sides holding it down, so it’s easy to put on and take off. I didn’t want it to be permanent. The top boards are removable also.

The next thing I need to get is a seat. The rear brake caliper I rebuilt is leaking, so I will have to either fix that or find a good used one to replace it. I’m not sure exactly where it’s leaking from. The brakes work fine though, I just have to add fluid every now and then. I also have a winch that I may put on the front. I would mostly use it to lift and lower the plow. It may be helpful if I get a tractor stuck too, or the quad.

I guess now I should work on getting the 250 running soon too. I have some other projects to finish up first though.
Thanks Doug. I’m not sure how much I’m going to do on the 250. Probably just see if I can get it to run and drive then sell it. Maybe fix some small things. I don’t really need or want to keep it. I don’t think it’s worth all that much to begin with, so I don’t want to dump a lot of money into making it perfect."Squatted" it---LOL!
