And more junk.

Thanks again Jim! That channel is a streaming app called Flo Sports. Comes with a lot of other type of sports but I only watch racing.

I think we pay $150 annually.

I was still pretty little, probably around 6 or 7 when I discovered a guy that had a ramshackle house out on the road in front of our trailer court that was building Buicks for the dirt track. I remember they were Buicks because his homemade headers stuck through the holes in the fenders.
About the only other memory of it I have is he showed me that cutting a 55-gallon drum diagonally made 2 racing seats! Still would be a few years before I saw my first race. After we started going regularly in 1968 I built several models of local racecars but they all went down the creek in 1972. One of those models helped get me my first job in 1973, working in a race car shop. The shop owner remembered me bringing the model
into the pits to show him. He probably was trying to help us out since we had lost everything in the flood. Worked there until I graduated high school when the company went bankrupt.

Flood damaged Polaroid picture of that model.

We found one other picture of some of my models back then.

Polaroids don't take great pictures, much less being washed a couple miles down a creek---LOL!

The Roku devices that were compatible with a TV in the house and the lift bay TV came in today so I ran some laps on the track and had more Chili Bowl on TV Wasn't as bad to get them going today since I had done the shop office one yesterday. The next step will be biting the bullet and subscribing to "Fubo" to get the local and other networks that carry NASCAR channels. 80 bucks a month but we will still come out ahead over cable.

This old Chevelle T-Jet was the most versatile car I ran tonight. I need to figure out what made that one drive so well on both lanes!

Rear wheels set out further than the fronts? Little softer rubber? Just guessing,

Only 2 reasons I would change tv providers. #1 To save a few bucks and to pick up the 5 races that are run on Prime end of May and through June this year. I have Amazon prime so should be able to get the summer price races now. #2 to get some of the main channels we watch now, especially RFD with no ads. With Hulu no ads is $95, add another $20 for RFD and close to what I pay now and still have 4 or 5 channels to do yet. So Hulu is out right off the bat. On the other hand that TV is our entertainment. Only eating out we do is if shopping or Dr. visit and it is time to eat. To go someplace to just to eat and drop $60-$70 bucks does not happen.

Same here Roger grocery shopping, doctor visits and taking the dog to the groomer is what gets us out of the house mostly then we stop and eat somewhere. We do go out somewhere nice once a month or special occasions.

They have us all duped when it comes to the best tv packages. I got some good news I’m going to post later on its own thread about the tv choice we’re going to make. I always liked the RFD channel but it’s not worth another $20. extra. I mostly watched Country Family Reunion and Larry’s Diner on that but you can watch all their episodes on YouTube for free whenever you want.

I have not had much interest in You Tube. I seem to get a while lot of stuff that I don't want when trying to find something. Want to watch those on TV not the computer screen. We get RFD as part of our Dish package. Same with Sirius XM which is on most of the mornings.

Trying to get answers from Amazon is like pulling hens teeth. Wanting to find out if I can watch live TV with a firestick with a Prime membership? I have the firestick but never figured out how to use it and have been a prime member for some time. Amazon's answer was I needed to contact UK support?? HUH ?

About the nicest place we go to eat is Cracker Barrell, Golden Correl or Pizza Ranch. Carolyn likes the Mexican places, Hu-Hot, Red Lobster, etc. but I stay clear away from them. I like fish but don't want to play with my food before eating it so no lobster, carb, clam, etc. Just to old fashion, I guess.

Usually all the cars have the wheels set out wide as possible. Will have to do some comparing when I get time.

We go eat now and then. Sometimes we meet old friends somewhere, or I go to have breakfast or lunch with some cousins when they are in town or retired coworkers. Loree has to grab food in town quite a bit since her job keeps her on the run.

I like RFD. Will have to check You tube sometimes. Watched a show that might have been called Metal Memories a few times at my sisters. Can't remember the name for sure. Lots of cool tractors and implements.

I got those fender deflectors today. Thanks for posting the link, Jim!

Worked out a rough layout for that racecar today too. Need to get input from the driver and the Hall of Fame president to see if this will work. The HOF stickers will be printed since I don't have a digital printer.

You can watch YouTube on any Smart Tv or on any old tv using a Firestick, no need to watch anything on a computer screen unless you want to.
That’s how I do it. As I’ve said I primarily watch YouTube. My youngest and I are watching travel videos right now. We like seeing different countries and some people we watch frequently have on going aeries.

I watch a ton of car content. A lot of JDM car channels that people here wouldn’t be interested in.

But I also watch some classic car stuff. Pole barn garage. Junkyard digs. Build season, buffs garages, David friburger (however you spell it. Ex motor trend tv guy), Dylan McCool, and Vice grip garage (stopped watching him after he got rich)

I also watch a couple motorcycle channels. Bearded mechanic is good. He fixes up old bikes and some newer stuff.

This stuff gives me plenty of watching every week. Most of them post hour long videos once a week.

Also filter in computers and gaming stuff as well.

I can’t watch regular tv any more. Doesn’t typically appeal to my beliefs and moral values.

Got to know how to run the Firestick first. Messed with it some after I got it but nothing in the last year or so. I can get lost so easy on that kind of thing's it isn't funny.

Our tv is older than the so-called smart TV. DISH tech hardly knew how to run it when he was here taking care of one of their issues. As long as it has a good picture it stays.

Sounds like you’re a YouTuber too Aaron. I probably watch it more than anything else, they have a lot of good movies too.

Those numbers are a thing of the past and good riddance too. Lot of arguments over who finished ahead of who. Especially when thy bring up a video taken 20' one way or the other from the actual finish line.
Guess I am too old school, Rog, to me the number is the identity of the car, driver, team and even the sponsors. Transponders do settle the human error and judgement but I still think legible numbers should be required on both doors and roof.

Network TV hasn't interested me for a couple decades, but I'm not a big video watcher either. We watch a few shows on a streaming network called "Up Faith and Family". My wife is hooked on a show called "Outlander", but I don't remember what streaming channel that is on.

Last night Flo Racing crashed during the "Chili Bowl" in Tulsa OK. 400 cars narrowed down all week to 24 to start the final "A" main of the week.
It crashed during the "B" mains so on FB they announced to go to YouTube to watch the remainder of the program while the techs figure out the problem with the network. We were YouTubers last night---LOL! Kyle Larson led flag to flag but it wasn't easy! He was involved in a wreck hitting a lapped car that spun in front of him and jumped over the front of the stalled car. Larson's car engine killed while he was airborn. They don't have starters so had the car stopped he would have been put to the back. When the car hit the ground it was till in gear and the engine fired up! Somehow all the wheels were still pointing the right directions and air was still in the tires.

Then with about 5 laps to go A long banner got knocked off the front chute wall and I think it made him miss his mark coming off turn 4. He hit the wall and rode on top of it, again without killing the engine and somehow not destroying the car! Caution came out and he was worried that it was for him climbing the wall but they pulled up the banner off the track! He had guys right with him pretty much from when he was in that wreck to the checkers after that, but they weren't able to capitalize. Good race, and I was glad Flo Racing had a backup system with You Tube!

We could identify the cars by their sponsor, car color, etc. Numbers did help with that but there was always the number being the wrong color for the scorers, to reflective, need to be outlined, etc. etc. We were on the same ground Doug but different sides of the fence so to speak.

One thing I did say there Rog, was LEGIBLE numbers. Reflectives are hard to see at many angles, choosing a number style is important and if the wrong colors are chosen an outline can cause a number to be unreadable too. Contrast is the key.

I always liked the announcer saying things like "Here comes the Chevy's Lounge #1 taking the lead or "Your main event winner is the Casa Del Rey Restaurant #00". Done properly numbers are tied in with the main sponsor and the entire identity of the team. Oh well I'm a racing dinosaur---LOL!

It warmed up quite a bit today, and almost no wind! Had to go into town to Walmart and exchange a defective Roku Stick. Then had to go to Sam's Club and get softener salt along with a few other odds and ends. The salt is in the same isle as motor oil.

A month ago this 6 quart case was still $44. Today it was $32. That is within 5 bucks of 2019 prices! I use that oil in the Denali.

Last week when I started the trucks before the sub zero cold came in, I noticed that the damm voles are coming back again! S-word had melted off enough to expose the tunnels!

I think the woman next door needs to quit feeding those 2 feral cats! That black and white one I call "Old Man" as he is at least 15 years old. The orange one is 5 or so. I call him "Trump", being orange. They may be older but that's how long we have been seeing them around.

Somehow they keep surviving the -40+ wind chills we get during the winter.

Hooked up the new Roku stick and it works like it is supposed to.
