I think he was referring to the plate giving with the 5' spacing. It will be springy. How come no 2" treated down there. All kinds of it up this way.The 'span' members are 2" X 2" x 1/4", they won't give in 5'.

Have no idea, but nobody has any, including the regular lumber yards!I think he was referring to the plate giving with the 5' spacing. It will be springy. How come no 2" treated down there. All kinds of it up this way.
I hear it makes longer lasting toilet paper.Must be those darn treated lumber hoarders---LOL!
Might be a good idea as this stuff can get slick under the right conditions! I have some silica sand, very fine stuff!Kenny, maybe add some sand to the deck paint for grip?
Been using sand in paint for traction for a # of years! Well versed in the application of such.Works to put the sand on right after you paint too. I hate to try and put paint on with sand in it. Sand never stays mixed with the paint. Can also weld some short lengths of beads (welding strips) as slip stoppers randomly.
We used to do that on the wood deck of the floating boat docks. Then some of the mucky muck women complained that it hurt their feet. Cheeez. Can't win for loosing. You got it covered in good shape. Now to make it rattle proof.Been using sand in paint for traction for a # of years! Well versed in the application of such.
