What are you currently working on??

Ya Doug. That’s the way it is around here. They, the government, have to dispatch the plows. Insurance reasons, some idiot slides off the road because of their bald tires and want to sue the government because there was snow on the road. You know the deal, On a better note, tractors are fine. Yes I like doin wood work, but at my pace in better weather. Hehe.

This is what has been occupying my time lately. Built 2 floors (10'X12') in different sections of this pole building. Enclosed one area with a door and 3 windows.

Is that structure yours, Kenny or a customers? Any enclosed work areas are a valuable asset to a handyman like yourself!

I hear that Noel! That's why they dump TONS of salt on our roads at the slightest snow, to protect idiot drivers from themselves and to keep from getting sued! Shre is hard on the vehicles.

Cutting some stickers again tonight after work.

Yep, pour the salt on Doug that’s what they do here too. Vehicles around here can have rust thru holes in them within 6 to 10 years. Some people still paying the big monthly for them.

headed outside to do leaves (again) while being POd about how the election is headed....... (wont get into "why", I know people here don't like that sort of discussion))
but looking at the map there's alot of red, yet the other guy is close to winning? Ugh.

Actually did some tractor work today along with a couple of other chores since it was great weather! Problem was I woke up real late! I got a shingles shot yesterday afternoon and I think it knocked me out! Didn't wake up until 10:30! Arm is aching too.

I decided since the weather was perfect, I would get the cutting deck off the MF12G and pressure wash the tractor and deck. Did a couple other household chores first. It took quite a while to wash the deck since I didn't scrape it first. It started getting dark so had to get everything back inside.

That underwater epoxy paint didn't work as good as I hoped, but I've got plenty so I will goop some more on next spring! I'll look at the deck closer in the next couple days. It didn't peel or flake, but looks like the turbulence blasted it off. Looks like the deck is in great shape after last spring's overhaul.

Looks great Doug. The deck was grass and very small rock blasted I’d say. Held up well.

Noel

Thanks, Noel! mowing the ditches on the two lots I do probably has some small gravel in them. The grass also has lots of coarse weeds that might be abrasive. Don't have "normal" grass planted anywhere. It's still the same crap that grew here 50 years ago when it was a field!

Not GT's but these got dropped off in my back yard today. My wife's uncle that gave her the Jeep brought them. He says they all run, but obviously they need a TON of work My plan is to see if one can get running right. An LT would be more suitable for my wife if I wasn't able to mow. Right now I'm thinking the Bolens probably got the best engine. I don't like the idea of the Kawasaki in the JD and the Craftsman smokes. If it's a pretty dry winter I'll get them in the shop one at a time to evaluate them.

Then, I finally have made a deal on getting a trailer. It's only a 9' long bed but better than none! I will have to go out to "the ranch" and get it after he gets his homebuilt tractor off of it. He's not sure where the tractor will be unloaded yet so it may be next spring before I actually bring it home.

I traded him a craftsman blade and snow thrower that I had laying out back for the trailer. He's 81 and is trying to get rid of junk, but he said "it's interesting junk" referring the the thrower and blade---LOL! He's got some kind of smaller tractor that he will adapt them too.

Like I needed more projects, but they can always be scrapped if nothing else.

I dont know what parts prices are for the kawasaki but I know the one in my x570 will sling some grass. Its a tough motor! I wouldn't count it out but deere prices are usually high...

I have a yardworks tractor Doug that looks to be the same as that Bolens and same 15.5 hp engine. Works good. And very very easy on gas.

I forgot why he said he had the tins off the engine! I'll have to call and ask. I know he said that he replaced an electric clutch on it once. I don't intend on spending much but that's always a person's original idea---LOL! Hoping the biggest expense will be a new seat for one

Thanks for the reply, Aaron!

I appreciate the input, Noel! I bet they are the same since it's MTD. I always liked Briggs I/C engines back when I was racing go-karts. Over-rev them all day long and never hurt them! The Bolens looks to be the most complete one also.
