What are you currently working on??

I have a yardworks tractor Doug that looks to be the same as that Bolens and same 15.5 hp engine. Works good. And very very easy on gas.

For some reason the pics didn't show up when I first commented, Noel! Sure does look the same! Think yours has bigger back tires though.

I forgot why he said he had the tins off the engine! I'll have to call and ask. I know he said that he replaced an electric clutch on it once. I don't intend on spending much but that's always a person's original idea---LOL! Hoping the biggest expense will be a new seat for one

Thanks for the reply, Aaron!

All depends on what's broken!

Had a lot of running around in town to do today so didn't get to do anything with those LTs besides confirm that the engines all spin over by hand. I had taken a vacation day from work and tomorrow is a holiday. Might haul a battery out there tomorrow to see if they spin over.

I don't know how precise keys are for the ignition switches, but the JD key works in the Bolens switch since it was missing. Craftsman one doesn't.

None of those LTs will turn with a battery hooked up. Might be safety switches or who knows what keeping that from happening. I just need to get them in the shop one at a time to get a better look at them. Wind was too cold to be messing around out there very long!

The more modern the LT, the more safety switches. I have faith you'll figure them out.

Can you get to the starter solenoid easily on them? Just run a wire from the battery that you can momentarily touch the small connector to see if they turn over.

I did see the solenoids on all 3 Lts. It was too dang cold to mess with it any further though! I have driven my '72 GMC for half a day that way once years ago! I ran a hot wire to the coil and jumped the posts on the solenoid to start it. Why? For some reason my wife had my keys and we had no spares stashed anywhere back then---LOL! I still had to get to a couple of appointments on time and stopped at her work and got my keys after the appointments!

Maybe I can get one in the shop Saturday.

I was out gittin firewood today. Saw a local ad for wood for sale. Looked like a good pile and already cut up. Just throw in stove. Any way. Fella wanted $50.00 for it. 1/2 a cord or so. Figured, not a bad deal. So I went and got it. It’s at least a 1/2 cord. Mostly hardwood. So he, his son and I throw it on the trailer. I gave him the $50.00, then he gives me $10.00 back. Nice fella.

Figured I may as well test out the wood. So threw in a bunch. Just to see if it will burn. !!!!

Finally got back to messing with the MoCraft. Got all the wiring done, hooked up a battery, shot some carb cleaner into the spark plug hole, and she fired right off. I put the grill, hood and gas tank on. Then ran the gas line. And called it quits for today.
I still need to do the tire/wheel combo, build and recover the seat, and put on the decals.
(And whatever else I have forgotten) Rick

I took the Mocraft off the lift. What needs to be finished I can do with it at floor level.
That left room for the Speedex S18 to go on the lift. I need to get this Briggs to fire off.
If not I have a 10 hp Kohler that might fit in it.
If I go with the Kohler I may fabricate a 3 point with an electric actuator. Rick
