What are you currently working on??

Finished my bike. Jetting dialed in and it flat out will rip. I took it down the old rail road tracks and did some hill climbs. Not little hills. Long and pretty darn steep. It flew up them. Accelerating the whole way. Pretty darn good for a motor that started its life at 6.5hp from China. Only stock part left is the head, block and tin work. The head will be replaced at some point with a port, polish and over sized valves.

I havent clocked the top speed but I will say its faster than I want to go.
Now you have a super fast high priced toy that is to fast and dangerous to ride.

Stacking wood for next year. And used the tractor with loader. And use my homemade pickaroons. Man they work great for pilein wood. And when the wood gets thrown in to far, ya get a longer pickaroon. Boy, I wish I woulda had these years ago.

You forgot the picture where the pickaroon went through the jug of bar oil when you were getting the piece at the back of the box Noel lol. I made two sets of the mini log tongs for picking them up, they're great as well.

Thanks for your opinion it really opened my eyes that I wasted the money that I earned and spent on a toy I wanted to play with.

If you don't have anything that isnt smart ass to say then stay off my posts and replies. I've had enough of listening to your little comments on people's posts and kept my mouth shut.

I guess I can enjoy that ignore button again.

A while back I walked into a local mower shop and spied a Cub Cadet very similar to "Frankie". It was a manual lift tractor with no hydraulics. But the rear hitch plate was the one used for hydraulic tractors with a 3 pt. I contacted the owner and we worked up a trade. His need was to be able to have a ball on his hitch and still use the pin hitch hole. I fixed up my hitch plate with two brackets that would allow him to do that, also he could put the ball in three different positions. He was happy and so am I. This bracket has the slot cut out for the lifting bar and the longer sides with holes set up for the draw pins and stabilizing straps. Got it installed with some new draw pins. I luckily found two straps with holes in the right place and only needed to cut them to length. The straps help keep the rear axle from twisting.

I need a top link bracket. The scrap pile had two plates in it with holes in the right place. So I welded them together, trimmed off the longer leg. Drilled holes, painted and installed it. I also got a good deal on draw pins at what used to be a Big R store.

Ill post pictures later but the last few days ive been working on taking the cultivator apart for the gravely an cleaning it up so every thing will work with ease , also upgraded to a lift which is helping with working on the jd tiller

Last time I had the JD 112 running, it died and wouldn't restart. So yesterday I tried it again. Still no start. Jumped the battery that I ran down, checked for spark. Nope. Pulled the points cover and cleaned the contacts. Still no spark. Wiggled the wire and got spark. Fired it up and let it run, then drove it to the shop and replaced the wire. There was a crack in the insulation close to where it went through the cover, think it was shorting there. Starts good now, but may have to get a new starter, bendix kicks out too quick.
Also got the JD 265 (Kohler 25 HP repower) fired off. Need to look at the throttle linkage as it's not choking real good.

Picked up the next member of my Deere herd, a 87 318. Was in the "boneyard" section at work. Only shows a little over 500 hrs on the hour meter, but the motor looks like it may have issues. Going to replace the motor if its a basket case, put new rubber on, and add a three point.

Worked on the three fans I bought at auction. First one was old enough it had the oil tube front and back down to the bushings. Filled the tiny oil tubes, spun the blade a few times, plugged it in and away it went. Switch has been changed but still works for the low and high speed. Metal blade and all. Heavy dude. 2nd up was another of the same vintage but no oil tubes. Long flexible oil can stem with a small tube on the end got to the motor shaft OK. Oil and spun the blade a couple times. Spliced the power cord where it broke off in the stupid grommet through the brace, turned it on and it was up and running. #3 was a bigger fan, 7 blade plastic, metal cage but plastic grills. 3 speed with a thermostat ?? Never seen that on a window fan before but OK. No oil tuber but got the oil on the motor shaft where it needed to be. Another 3 speed and it it works as intended. 3 fan in working condition for $7 each plus 5¢ worth of oil and 30 min time I call a good investment.

This afternoon I cleaned up bottom end of the legs on the Oak wood folding chairs I got at auction. The had been used on concrete and wore down some and of course no finish. Couple had probably been used outside in damp ground as the varnish showed water marks. Put a good coat of Varithane on the ends so when they dry will be ready for use. Not the most comfortable chair and HEAVY but will make a good bench with a plank across two of the seats.

Did some manual labor this afternoon. about 3 weeks ago we had a small blizzard and I was on call at work. Took home a pickup from work with a snowplow on it. Unfortunately I did plow the gravel driveway with that truck. Never again! Today I shoveled up 5 wheel barrow loads of gravel that got pushed into the grass. Hauled it all to some gouges and low spots in the driveway and raked it out. It was almost hot out so I worked up a bit of a sweat! Felt pretty good actually. Cold beer tastes pretty good now!

That is why I used 3/8" shoulder rock when I rocked my drive. Has a ton of fines in it and packs down real hard. Starting to need some more added but have not had the rock throwing issue yet. Knock knock. No place to push any snow so have to throw it.

Same stuff I use Roger. Up here they call it 3/8" pit run. Don't throw, just plow. Using a pickup was the wrong move for a wet underneath driveway. Using the MF8E with the full-length skid moves no gravel, even when the gravel is thawed.

Been firing up equipment for the first time this year. When the carb gets here tomorrow, I'll have a Simplicty Broadmoor ready for the buyer.

Got the air all out of the hydro system on the Bolens 1256 yesterday. Works like a new one again. Got the snow thrower out in the open along with the 42" deck. Going to an auction next Sunday. Tractor was only used about an hour a yer so no use keeping it around. Deck and thrower haven't been used in 3-4 years. With 3 other throwers and a blade time to thin things out. Fired the 1512 diesel up for the first time since mowing season last year.

fired up all 4 push mowers today, started right up after sitting all winter/ listed the Lawn boy on CL and had my wife list it on Fakebook marketplace, see what happens there. made contact with 2 guys about mowers they have listed that "need work" that I happen to have brand new engines for sitting here (new engines, but 30+ years old, never had gas or oil put in them) another CL buy late last year from a guy who retired as a mechanic at a rental yard....
had a neighbor text me last nite, like 5 times back to back to back (which he knows I HATE texting in the 1st place) c'mon, he cant walk 2 doors over and ask me? no, he had to drive over today.... idiot.
last fall I had to go over there and take him his Yukon back after I did some work on it (I have a lift) and he asked me if I wanted him to give ne a ride home.... we're talking less than a Football field apart now from his driveway to mine. Really?
His mother in law lives on the other side of me and it's comical.... the mother in law has to drive over there and they drive to mother in law's place.... I don't get it. none of these people are crippled, in the least.

he needs a replacement for a dead 18hp Intek vertical shaft, on a Crapsman lawn ornament. Nope, I don't have anything close. Still looking for a vertical in that HP range, for the junk Husquavarna I got from the other neighbor that used to be across the street from me. that one's a 21hp Kohler Courage.

got my Slant 6 started to on reassembly, today..... got crank in and plasti gaged, with new bearings/ got rods and pistons and new rod bearings all in and checked with Plastigage.
all between mid and high end of tolerance for clearance,, but still within said clearances.... crank came back from machine shop polished STD/STD. Didn't need a regrind.
checked piston to cyl wall clearance the quick and dirty way, with long feeler gauge set and sticking piston/rod in cylinders upside down, 2-thou feeler gauge slid in fine w/ piston, 4 thou feeler gauge didn't/wouldn't....... box that new pistons came in, said piston to wall clearance at a thou-and-a-half (0.0015") so a lil loose....but still not bad at 2 thou (0.002") freshly bored, new pistons at 20-over.... ring gap was barely in spec at the low side of specs, though.....
