What are you currently working on??

Not a tractor but clothes dryer died. Belt broke. Belt is listed on back order everywhere, went ahead and ordered it, says 3 weeks out. Then I carried the old dryer to the basement with the extra washer. Then went to lowes and bought a new dryer. Carried it in the house and hooked it up.

Clothes are drying right now!

Truck has paid its dues for the year...well almost. Saved me one delivery fee from lowes. Needs a few more trips out picking stuff up to pay for itself.

49 registration and 120 a year for insurance.

While blading the drive after the last snow I found a pin laying in the drive. Couldn't find the place where the pin came from at the time. Found it today while clearing the drive again, one of the Frontier blade hinge pins!

I noticed the loader mounted blade was tilting to one side. The factory weld had broken off the end of the pin. Didn't see it was the problem earlier as the strap was in place, covering the end of the pin. Took it apart this morning, welded the strap back to the pin, replaced it, greased it & put it back to work!

A friend that is a great "gear guy" came over and helped me put new seals in the Dana 44 front differential. The carrier has to come out to put the inner ones in the axle tubes. I had built a seal driver and it worked well. My friend said the ring, pinion and bearings were in good shape. Got the seals in and then we installed the carrier again and checked the pinion preload. It was correct at 175 ft lbs of torque on the pinion nut. Then he checked the ring gear backlash and it fell into a normal range for used gears at .009". He had to go so I went ahead and put the cover on.

Now I can assemble the rest of the front axle to clean up and paint the front suspension and frame. Didn't get any pics except after it was done.

Did some work on the K321 also. Will post that in the MF1450 thread.

a job I have done more than once. so much easier working on f you can get it onto a lift. Done it both that way, and on jackstands laying on my back.
I have borrowed the Dana "housing spreader" enough that I probably oughtta see about getting one.

What vehicle would this be on Doug.

Noel

Ahh, I forgot about that one. Nice to have and get it going. I thought it was a GM spring set up, and thought the Denali was to new for that. So couldn’t figure out what vehicle it was. Thanks.

Noel
Easy to forget about, Noel, since it hasn't been on the road for about 17 years now---LOL! Wish I had a lot of pictures of it through the years but not many got taken. Oldest pic is of me with it about the time I got my drivers license, early in 1972. It was a crappy Polaroid picture, plus it went through the flood. The second one was taken about 2001 when Mom gave it to me. She was having a hard time getting up into it by then.

Had to cut some stickers for the "HOSERS" slot car club tonight so didn't work on the K321 again!

I need to make up a bunch of kindling too. Mine is already down to 1"sq about 6' long. Scraps from a bird house/ feeder/etc. company that uses all cedar. They put their scrap in bundles about 3' across and 6' long, band it tight in tow places and set it outside. If you can catch them at the right time, at 4:30pm when they are ready to shut down for the day they will load it for you on a trailer for $5. I got a bundle about 5 years ago. Made a bunch of garden railroad buildings out of some of it. Cut it down to 1/2 sq. Now I cut it to 8" lengths and use 5 or 6 on top of some news paper to star the fireplace. Amish get a lot of it for kindling also.

Had to replace the battery in the Bolens G12. Would not hold a charge and had no cranking power. Only 4 years old. After a good battery was put in it fired right off. Been remotored to a 10 hp Tech engine. Sold it to a guy in the City about 60 miles West of me. Have a couple more to sell but the one with the thrower may sit till this fall.

Went around the house today and fixed 3 gutters. I was going to be lazy and not fix them till it warmed up but my basement had a bit of water in it. Figured I better get it now. Not finished basement but I still don’t want water in there.

I also looked at all the limbs down off the pine tree. But those will definitely wait till it dries up some. Gotta get my 2 wheel drive truck back there to load up and it would not do it right now. I’d be surprised if it would even move from where it’s parked at in the yard

Out in garage working on assembling a slant 6
Came in to eat and watch the last football game for the next 7 months, had to leave the room because it's halftime and I cannot stand hip hop/rap music. yet it's all my wife is interested in she knows nothing and don't want to know nothing about football
well, that and she wanted to see the commercials were all paying for in higher prices

Same here on leaving. I have a TV inter connect to my hearing aids so can push a button it it is nice and quiet. Carolyn is watching for the Budweiser commercial. No doubt the NFL is highly catering to the younger generation half of which don't/won't work and expect more hands out to them. Working people can't afford to go a games any more.
