Looks good Nick, you did a great job. I’m surprised the tractor didn’t come with them with all the stuff you got with it.I made a set of chains for my Cub, and got them on yesterday. Now it’s ready to try it out next time it s-words. We’re supposed to get some today, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be enough to plow.

Thanks Eric. I am too. The PO mentioned that he used to plow with it, so I’m sure there were chains for it at one time.Looks good Nick, you did a great job. I’m surprised the tractor didn’t come with them with all the stuff you got with it.
I'm sure you are having a fun time using that cool old tractor, Nick! That makes being out in the cold worth it!I got to try it out last night. Only about 2 inches, but the tractor and chains worked great. I’m curious to see how it does in a heavier snow now. Now I need to fix that burnt out headlight. I never really used this tractor in the dark before, so I never bothered.

Yeah, it was like 15* when I was out there. I don’t usually mind the cold, but that was cold even for me. It was worth it though, I had fun.I'm sure you are having a fun time using that cool old tractor, Nick! That makes being out in the cold worth it!

Kinda looks like Noel’s cousin. Not near as much fun as Nick had on his tractor moving s-word but I did the concrete areas with the freebie walk behind snowblower today. Not worth starting the MF8E for the driveway at this point. Will see how much drifting we get with the high wind forecasted for tonight and tomorrow though.

I can’t imagine getting that much snow, that must have taken forever to clean up. I would imagine he had to go plow every few inches instead of waiting until it was finished.Supposedly our grandfather used a 1949 cub with just weights chains and the front blade to clear the driveway during the buffalo blizzard of 77' Snow was up to the garage door I cant even imagine how long that took to push all that with such a small machine !
His "Merican" cousin Doug lol.Kinda looks like Noel’s cousin.

I had made a plow setup for the Cub I had. Believe or not I made it from a 42" Sears plow that I made to a 60". Used the same concept that Sears did for mounting and lifting...and even could swivel from the seat. Didn't use chains but tires were loaded...Would have done better with chains..

And that's same Cub I talked with Cjet about getting red over spray all over my garage then I painted it...
Nice looking Cub! Is that a Sears blade on it?
We’re almost the same age Nick, and roughly 2 years apart… but thats the difference between you and I, you don’t mind the cold and I hate it.I don’t usually mind the cold
It is..These were the plows for smaller framed Sears tractors that had the flat axles . Was originally a 42" that widened to 60".. lots of reinforcement to the lifting brackets. If not it probably would have folded in half.Nice looking Cub! Is that a Sears blade on it?
