What are you currently working on??

I got to try it out last night. Only about 2 inches, but the tractor and chains worked great. I’m curious to see how it does in a heavier snow now. Now I need to fix that burnt out headlight. I never really used this tractor in the dark before, so I never bothered.

Looks good Nick, you did a great job. I’m surprised the tractor didn’t come with them with all the stuff you got with it.
Thanks Eric. I am too. The PO mentioned that he used to plow with it, so I’m sure there were chains for it at one time.

I'm sure you are having a fun time using that cool old tractor, Nick! That makes being out in the cold worth it!

Started on the tub to shower conversion yesterday. Got along good as the old tub is laying outside in 3 pieces and walls are down to the studs. In the end of the bathroom and a 60" shower unit floor pan just fit with 1/8" to spare. Pan was level both ways. Need to put in a couple studs this morning, drill a couple new holes for the water lines, then set the floor pan, hook up the drain line, then wrestle the back section from the basement into the bathroom and set in place. 60" wide and 75" tall, will just fit in the framed pocket.

Not near as much fun as Nick had on his tractor moving s-word but I did the concrete areas with the freebie walk behind snowblower today. Not worth starting the MF8E for the driveway at this point. Will see how much drifting we get with the high wind forecasted for tonight and tomorrow though.

Kinda looks like Noel’s cousin.

I tried to start the blower a while back and it would not go. Haven't looked at it since. Get the bathroom done and the temps get out of the deep freeze I should get it going just in case. We usually keep at least a week's supply of necessities on hand just in case.

Supposedly our grandfather used a 1949 cub with just weights chains and the front blade to clear the driveway during the buffalo blizzard of 77' Snow was up to the garage door I cant even imagine how long that took to push all that with such a small machine !

I can’t imagine getting that much snow, that must have taken forever to clean up. I would imagine he had to go plow every few inches instead of waiting until it was finished.

I had made a plow setup for the Cub I had. Believe or not I made it from a 42" Sears plow that I made to a 60". Used the same concept that Sears did for mounting and lifting...and even could swivel from the seat. Didn't use chains but tires were loaded...Would have done better with chains..

Snow stayed to the North of us so far. Chance again tomorrow night. Hopefully will have the bathroom demo stuff hauled from the front door to the burn pile by then. It was cold and windy when we piled it there so we would not have to be putting coats on and off all the time. Down to the 3 finish panels between the shower top and ceiling. Then I will finish the wall space between the new shower and where the old tub was. Have the floor tile ordered, will do the painting next week some time. The shower fixture we picked out was not intended to be used with this particular model of shower so had to mount the valve assembly twice and change the water stub twice to get things to where they fit. Last straw was the round cover place over the valve had 3" screws with it. The were about 3/4 in" short. Silicone sealed the cover in place and taped it good so it would not sag down while it set up. Need to try and find some 4" metric very fine thread screws for that.

Got back to messing with the roper again. It has the two speed transaxle. I have the lever two change the hi-lo range. But not the mounting brackets or the conecting link at the shaft on the side of the transaxle.
Have two rusty spots where the brackets go on the inside of the frame. Found a pair of brackets on E-Bay. Making my own connecting link.
Swapped the rear tires for some larger ones.
Then fabbed up some mounts for the seat.
