What are you currently working on??

Had that happen to my son's cub original. Fresh paint job but the tractor had sat after paint in pieces up in the attic for like 3 years before being reassembled.so well cured. The very first time he put gas into it what was put in the night before was on the floor in the morning along with much of that fresh paint. Tractor was blasted bare before the paint job. That will be the last time that I use case IH iron gard paint, that is certain.
Hardener usually prevents the paint lifting, but not always.

well, so far so good on the K341 in the Ariens....have fired it up a few times now.... and retorqued the head gasket.... though I have it inside the garage right now, which is currently 70*… I need to park it outside a while, and see what it does.... it started fine in the garage last week and then again this morning, before I had it apart // but last week I pulled it out to do a "side job", and when I went to start it to pull it back in, it sounded like a shotgun went off a few times, before I finally got it to run,. to bring it back inside..... it was in the 20s outside/ and it had been outside 4 or 5 hours at that point..... last winter, I wound up having to replace points in that machine outside, when it was 10 or 15* below 0, burnt them up, for some reason.... and that burnt up set of points wasn't that old, at that time.... few months worth, and probably about 5 hours on that set, at most. yes I replaced condenser with that 1st set of points, had to... due to rust and corrosion. The whole ign system is new on this tractor. coil, ign switch, plug, wire, all of it.
it always has started easily even sitting outside since I initially got it running, as long as it's above about 40*.
even being inside, and being allowed to sit for a couple of hours between starts to get good and cold, it does seem to be starting with less cranking of the key than it had been before, since the valve job.... and strangely, even though I have only put about 12 hours on it since the initial work, I did find a leaking head gasket when I took it apart today...leaker head gasket was an OEM Kohler, as is the one that I put on today. It has been few enough hours since I last had the head off, that all the deposits on the piston wiped off with a shop rag. no carb cleaner or scraper needed..... the exh valve is certainly tighter in its guide than the original was, can feel a big difference between new and old. of all my machines, this one is the one I tend to use the least. usually as a tug for my popup or my utility trailer or the lawn sweeper, is about it.

been debating on whether to put the snow blade back on this one, as I had it set up last year... still has its WW fluid-loaded tires on it but I pulled the chains and the snow blade, when I took it to be my butt buggy at a local threshermens show over this past July 4th weekend.... but without it, I still have the 48" 2 stage snow blower on another Ariens (GT19 with power steering) plus the Deere 828D and MTD 2 cycle "freebie" walk behinds running and ready for action sitting here..... I can't use all of them at once by myself, my wife hasn't ever (and won't) run a snow blower, and my son bought a house of his own, so I don't really need it this year..... might toss the blade on it and send it or the Deere (not sure which) home with the kid.....

Finally got around to cleaning and re-painting the mower deck. ZTR, so removal is a big hassle. So put it on the mower lift and had at it. There is a drawback to that, however:

At least you kept your mouth shut Cat! Teeth are spotless---

No tractor work. My wife has a co worker on maternity leave. Husband started beating her and three kids. She got away from that for good hopefully. Her paycheck just pays the rent and they have no furniture or beds. Been sleeping on air mattresses since July, and no one knew it. My wife is rounding up used toys, kid beds and other things they need. I've spent all weekend working on the stuff she has been rounding up making repairs and assembling. As normal most of the stuff got disassembled and hardware gets lost. Good thing I hoard junk. They are just about outfitted for now.

Too cold to work outside for me, been working on the old house more, got toilet hooked up, some odds and ends wrapped up.
planning to get on market in Late Jan or Feb, but my best friend asked if they could rent it a few months while there new house is being built.....if their house sells quickly.

Supposed to be nice again tomorrow so have two projects I might work on. One is to fix the free wheeling on the EK10. The other is sight in the .50 cal black powder I bought last spring and haven't fired it yet.

Trying to adjust in my wood burner to the 'new' wood I have. Seems to be doing good with over 70° on the temp gauge 12' away! I'll know more when outside temps drop way down.

I'm laying low. Need to make a new frame for an octagon window. Original frame outside rotted away. Looked solid but 5 plus layers of paint were all that held it together.

No tractor projects till summer. Sears runs again. Jd 110 parts are in the shed. Everything winterized.

Needed something to do this morning so I made up an adjustable light for the work bench. Can't adjust the height, but everything else. I have two small floods in it right now. I have a pair of bigger ones. Or can use LED's.

It just clamps to the table.

Here's the adjustment. Can go from down to straight up.

Always need more light! We have a halogen desk lamp on a boom arm my dad bought at a flea market. Works great but blows bulbs more often than I think it should.

Had to put a different battery in the Sears ,even with a full charge, wouldn't spin the old girl, new battery started it right up.

Also spred my gravel last night and this morning, got dark last night, had to finish today( took vacation day). 2 more trailer loads should finish all my barn area.

Since it got above 50 today, opened up my honey bee hives or should I say my hornets' nest to feed them. Girl were aannggrryyy today. Got stung 4 times, got in and out as quick as I could.

Put some strip LED 's up under the top edge of the keyboard slide and under a shelf where the sprakers, etc. sit. Really lights the area up nice and no glare either. We have all LED bulbs in the house and animal barn.
