What did you do with your tractor today?

Some wet snow today. So played musical tractors in the garage and got a different one out to clean up. This works great. But no throwing distance.

And son had the MF14 bulldozer with newly attached rear snow thrower out today for the first time. Worked great.
This thrower was on the MF12 a few years ago.
And this thrower is the original one that came with the MF12 and normally be mounted on the front of the tractor.

Have needed mine yet this winter. Tired of rain but at least rain means no salt, no brine and no shoveling/plowing ... Not complaining, but I have t feeling we're not gonna get away with it, Armageddon is coming. Wouldn't be a normal winter at all unless we get at least 1 big snow dump......

I'm not complaining about not having to run a tractor lately either with the problems my right upper arm and shoulder have been giving me lately. I went 8 visits to the chiropractor between thanksgiving and Christmas and it seemed to help but didn't cure it completely/ chiropractor never mentioned it but my daughter in law nurse is trying to tell me "rotator cuff" I hope not.
About 4-5 years ago I had pain in the area (don't remember exactly if it was the same exact spot, or same things set it off in pain, etc ) but I remember going to the chiropractor back then and the chiro mentioned "AC joint" back then. That wasn't mentioned there this time either.

Used the purple Sears to push snow. It was light and fluffy this morning, we got approx 6", but as temps went up, it mashed down and got very heavy. I pushed snow for at least an hour and half. Did both my drives, elderly neighbors' and cleaned out entry to guys across the street where plow piled it up. Only got stuck once when front tire went up over one of my RR ties.

Back around last veterans day I dug (rototilled) trenches on either side of my gravel driveway the whole length, and I wanted to drop RR ties or 8x8 landscape timbers but I didn't have $1000 that Menards wanted for the landscape timbers
my son asked ","what about telephone poles " which I hadn't thought about /but he had a buddy who had access to a pile of recently replaced ones that were still in great shape for free (said buddy is in the crew that replaced them) so that's what we went with. They stick up higher than I was wanting, even though they are half buried lengthwise/ but they will definitely serve my purpose of keeping the gravel IN the driveway and not wash out into the yard
and at the same time I have a spot in the yard on the front corner of the garage, that I have not been able to get grass to grow/ yet from the middle of the driveway to the end, somehow all the seed I spread in the yard ended up in, and had plenty of lush green grass sprouted in the driveway instead.... Hopefully the telephone poles will help keep the grass and gravel separated. Every time it would rain my seed would wash into the driveway. I wanted the tips of whatever border I went with to stick out even with the bottom edge of the mower deck, have the deck just scrape the border material... Maybe they'll settle in a little deeper. Once the t poles were in I brought in a load of gravel and filled it in, could have used a bit more .... And back filled the outside of the poles with the freshly pulverized dirt that I dug out.... And now, it's starting to sink/ especially the dirt on the outside of the poles. The poles haven't moved though from the height they were when dropped in.

Had the John Deere 140H3 out this morning cleaning up 4” of snow. Worked great.

Noel

Yes Doug it was nice yesterday morning to get it done. By 11:00 am it was starting to get colder and wind picking up.
And I’m sure there was, is and will be blowing snow all day today.
Highway snow plows are going up and down the road as I write this.

Noel

Temps got into the mid 50's today. So I opened up the shop to air out.
And started everything and parked them in the sun and let them run for a while.

Some group shots. The two wagons are a work in progress.
Gave me a chance to sweep the floor with all of them outside.

I've just moved mine out of the way so I could use the 2 post lift.i put the Dakota on it, just to have an "elevator platform" (aka the truck bed) to get some stuff down out of the attic, sort out my junk and put said junk back up there. Haven't blown a flake of snow yet this season with either the tractor or the walk behind blowers

Got the tractor out today because I wanted to get a couple snow pictures in the backyard, then blew some donuts in the yard after that. Next big thing if you call it that to do on it is fix the belt guard because it has sheet metal screws in it, and one of em popped off the guard so now the guard is loose and flappin' around .....
