What did you do with your tractor today?

Jim the 7000 series doesn't use the ball for the hydro lever.

I got my ZT out yesterday and mowed about 2/3 of the front yard. Be a while yet before I can mow any more than that.
Yeah I found out my 7117H is designed differently. I thought I would compare to make sure I had it together right. I like the 7000 series better.

Got the IH 1250 fired up for the first time in 2 years. LR was flat and with the weights I could not see the valve steam on the bottom let along get on it with air chuck. Decided to drive it forward 1/2 turn to get the valve steam on top and the bead broke loose from the rim. Jacked it up, strap around the tire and would not push back out far enough so it would take air. Got the wheel on the back of the ranger with a 2x6 block under the tire in 3 places and put the air to it and it popped back out to the rim again. Then the fun began. Got the wheel back on the tractor with no problem. Getting that 75 lb. weight back on, oriented right was a whole new issue. Bar through a ratchet strap around the tire, over a bar and the bar end under the seat helped lift the weight. Of course the seat wanted to tip forward so with one hand on the seat and the other on the weight, lifting, juggling, wiggling and many not so nice words later if finally slid in the rim. Two bolts tightened down with the impact and the job was done. Put a bottle of Slime in while it was down just to make sure. drove around for 1/2 hour driving over mole runs and put the tractor in the shed.

I have an area out away from the house that I cleared out several years ago where my bone yard is. I have a couple of Honey Locust trees that are so aggravating dropping its thorny limbs in the area I travel. I wanted to cut these down over the winter but didn’t get to it. I literally got down on my hands and knees with a bucket and picked these up for about an hour. While I was there I decided to trim two cedar trees from their low hanging limbs. I used my MTD 990 and Brinly trailer to haul the thorny limbs to the woods. I’ll go back later with the chipper and mulch up the cedar limbs.

A little spring change around. Plow off, bucket on the loader, all out getting fresh air. Hoses out the mud and grass out of the throwers.
Put the loader tractor and mowing tractor to the front by the door and put the snow throwing tractors to the back.
Thrower, weights on the back and chains will come off the Case 446 soon.
It will surely snow tomorrow. Hehe.

Oh and I worked on a beepin chainsaw too, today. Wouldn’t idle. Cut fine, but soon as you let off the gas it quits. Jumpins I hate chainsaws. So I fiddled with the low mixture screw a number of times. Seems to work now. But I’d say 95 percent chance it will act up again tomorrow when I go back to saw up some trees hurricane Fiona blew down last fall. Lots to do.

I’m not putting away the snow equipment yet. If I do I’ll regret it. If it’s left out it won’t be needed.
You all need to get prepared!! I did the last of mine yesterday. Took the blade, wheel weights and chains off of my JD110. Got all six blades lined up on or under the rack, chains hanging and weights put away.
Murphy's Law.:rolleyes: That is probably just enough to bring in another snowstorm!!

Got out yesterday and got the rest of the leaves mulched. A few places like corners and trees I had to rake them out to get to them. I used the 7012 and the ZT, I now need to get the leaves on the ally side of the fence. I will use my electric blower to move them away from the fence.

Wind is moving anything and everything that is not anchored down tight up this way. Straight out of the south. Fought it for 65 miles going West this morning and another 65 mils coming back East this afternoon. Box truck and box trailers were have lots of fun.

Not today but this past week I masked off, primed, and actually repainted the engine for my 10hp 857 Craftsman after about 2 weeks of stripping off the old paint. I masked it off and primed it on Wednesday evening, let it sit in the 80 degree sun most of the day Thursday and part of Friday, and painted it with 2 coats of Gloss White VHT engine enamel on Friday. I was gonna let the primer cure for another week until I heard the forecast of cooler temps so that's what made me paint it when I did. The first 3 pictures of it are when I taped it off, the next 5 pictures are when I put primer on it......

Saturday I took my 1440 with the bagger and did the first grass cutting of the year, and cleaned up the leaves that were left from last year. This picture is from last year, I forgot to get a new one.

Yesterday, I got my 149 running for the first time since November, and used it to aerate the yard.

finally had enough free time to cut my grass on Sunday! It was like mowing for hay! It went dead, greening up, to rain forest in the course of a few days!

I already need to cut again. I think tomorrow when I get home from work I am going to knock it down again! I'd do it again but tonight is dance, taekwondo and dinner out with the family. Not much time left for chores!

Topped off the gas in the X570, checked the oil and transaxle fluid, and she fired right up! This has definitely been one of the better purchases I've made! My warranty ran out this year. I got her in May of 2018. 300 Hours on the clock. The hour meter was growing faster when my dad was using it to cut his yard as well. I typically cut an hour or two a week (depending on how fast the weeds in my yard grows) and use it to pull a wagon around. Since the purchase of the 4 wheeler I'll use it to pull the wagon around and other chores I'd typically use the tractor for.
