What did you do with your tractor today?

I cut grass for the second time this year. It was high and the ground was really wet. The Simplicity 3415H done well without making any ruts or piling the grass up.

My no charge generator light came on again it’s been doing well since I took it apart last year cleaned and adjusted it. I’m tired of fooling with it so I’m going to replace it this time. I put it on charge so it’ll be hot for next time.

Grass is just starting to turn green in these parts. Goats are trying to find some to nibble on. Haven't started a mower yet. Need to clean the lawn of all the dead branches and tiwig that fall through the winter winds. Going to try and get the bigger one picked up this morning while granddaughter is here to help. Rock rake will get the bulk of what is left. If not they will go through the mowers. Dead and brittle Hybred Willows. Nice shade but don't plant them where you plan to mow under.

Broke the 70F by late afternoon. Wasn't suppose to get there. It was 28F early morning during the milking.

- Graded the driveway as the snow and rains washed in various potholes.
- Pulled out 18+ stumps in the pasture using the straight blade. The soil is thawed, moist and not baked. Some came out instantly, others like a stubborn loose tooth. About 30 more to go in the next few years. If the machine had a loader, I could move all of them so fast. lol
- slapped on the disc harrow, turned over all the compost in the garden fields.
- disc harrowed the area where the Asplundh tree service came thru and took out those nasty ugly pines under the power lines. Sounded like popcorn being made as there were so many surface roots. I went over it 3X. It looks so much nicer now.
- ran the rotor-tiller in my garden patch 240x70, so I can plant onions today, leeks and carrots. Strange how you can plant these 4 weeks before the last frost.

Until now, the temps were mainly low 50Fs and windy. This was the real first time getting a bunch of stuff done.

Had the Bever out doing yard clean up with the rock rake. Raking small branches, not rocks. Took a couple hours but got 95% of them gone. Granddaughter he4lped some then thought it would be more fun to ride the 4 wheeler around. Got the CC1862 started first time this spring. Will get it up to the shop and find an oil leak and get that stopped. Rear end some place, probably input shaft seal.

I fertilized the lawn last week using just a 10-10-10. Had good luck with it early last fall so put the same on this time. I'll spray for weeds in a couple weeks. Will be mowing for the first time this week sometime.

My hydro lever on my Simplicity 3415H won’t stay in the position once I let go. It slowly creeps towards neutral while driving. I took it apart today and cleaned the fresh grease I put on it last year when I took all this apart. It took me 45 minutes to do this. It has a metal ball and detents plus a spring and lever to get back together in a tight area. I dropped that stupid ball 8 times, it’s a good thing the deck caught it every time.

I also ordered some shutoff valves and installed one on it today. This doesn’t have the factory fuel tank and it’s only about a gallon. I’ve been looking for a factory tank but nothing so far.
