What did you do with your tractor today?

Did some mowing with the old MTD yesterday. 1st mowing for the back yard this year it was way too tall, it will look better after it is mowed again next weekend.

The MF12H with the Tech OH140 with the ruined SSI box is back running. I ended up using a ABS sensor, GM HEI module, and 12 volt coil. I need to get it out of the garage for 3 other tractors needing repairs; MF8 has steering issues the 2 gears do not always mesh to steer the tractor. The MM 110 needs some transmission work, it will lock up between 3 and 4th gear. And the CASE 195 I noticed has a leaking rear axle seal which will need to be replaced.

Grass cutting today. Here is the grass cutting team.

I remember you saying you had a Yardworks LT with a 15.5 B/S similar to a Bolens/MTD I have, Noel, but I don't remember seeing a pic of it before. Mine has a 38" deck and must be a little older than yours. It does drive pretty nice but will scalp it not careful. No deck wheels, and no anti scalp rollers. Keep reading---LOL!

What kind of an old MTD do you have, Ted? I've got a late 60's MTD Eight Hundred LT. It's the one in my avatar with our daughter sitting on it. She is 32 now! Haven't started that thing since 2008! I mowed with that tractor for almost 30 years and it was old when I got it---LOL! Probably should try to fire it up again one of these days.

It was "Mowing Monday"! The MF12G got to do the honors for the first time this season! Starting it's 7th season with the 13 HP Predator transplant. It ran and mowed great, and does a much better job than the Craftsman GT5000. The foot pedal Vari-Speed is nicer to control the speed around trees and obstacles rather than the hand control hydro of the GT5000. The deck floats nicely and the GT5000 deck is virtually ridgid. I have a foot hydro MF1450 but no deck with the "yard mule".

Great Mowing Monday story Doug. How come the 12 is missing the little fenders between foot rests and seat mount ?
I’ve shown pictures of the Yardworks before. It just not an antique or a collector tractor. Maybe that’s why people don’t remember me having it maybe.
Nice that the MF12 is running good and out performing a newer tractor.

It never had them when I got it, and the person I got it from never knew anything about them either, Noel.

I don't know what model MTD it is, I bought it new in 1991. It has a 18 HP Briggs and I think 38" deck. It was branded Service Star but the decals are gone now.
Nice looking 12.
Your MTD is quite a bit newer than the old one in the shed, then.
Thanks, Ted! I bought some parts from you that are on this tractor!

I mowed yesterday for about 2 hours with my Simplicity 3415H. I have to find out how to stiffen up the hydro lever it wants to creep back to neutral slowly if I let it go.

I noticed one of the height adjustment wheels on the deck of Hoopdy was bent out the other day. Since I had the deck off I bent it back into place and welded it. I also sharpened the blades. This little thing has a heavy deck for such a small lawn tractor.

Not tractor work but my SIL bought a Craftsman power washer brand new last spring. Called me yesterday morning said it wouldn’t start. Went over to look at it, no primer bulb, no choke, no throttle. Just pull and instant power it said on one of the stickers on the side of it.

The fuel was still what they put in it when it was last used. Drained tank and took the carb apart. Carburetor looked clean. No junk in it .Sprayed it down with some cleaner anyway and reassembled. Added fresh fuel to the tank. 50,000 pulls later, no luck. Put some gas in a spray bottle and took the air box back off. Sprayed some gas down the throat of the carburetor. Couple of pulls later it fired right up.

I’d never buy one of those pieces of junk.

I have the opposite problem with the hydro lever on my DA 916 I was going to look at it before I put the deck on but forgot. You might check to attachment bolt underneath and you might be able to tighten it.

I’m going to bring in the shop after while to see what I can do plus the deck is set a little too nose high.

John .
All the new junk like that now days Bought a new push mower year before electric start . Crank and crank and won't start. Give a shot of stating fluid and run all day.

My cousin used my tractor with loader to help him cut up some wood at his place Great to get the wood off the ground and be able to stand and cut the wood.
