What did you do with your tractor today?

I have 4 batteries on HF maintainers right now, and two more to go. Never had any problems besides replacing a clip on a couple. As Bill suggested a while back, I check battery voltage periodically to make sure they are working properly. He said that sometimes they don't charge fully.

I purchased a digital charger maintainer after reading what you guys had to say. it was 5 amp and then would switch to holding the charge automatically. Used it one time and pulled the boat out of the pole barn without unplugging it and of course it ended up under the trailer tire. I can't tell you how unhappy I was. So I go to order another and they are no longer available. Then I find one that is a lot nicer for the same money. When you hook it up it descales the plates and then goes into a charge mode. It compensates for summer and winter temps and some other things. It is 10 amp and is made by nextpeak. $24.75
I've had good luck with the Harbor Freight maintainers also but I need something to charge the battery for the trolling motor.

Actually over charged which can be worse.
But it seems as though they were some of the earlier ones 5-10 years ago. Sounds as though they'll better today.
But voltage should be checked periodically with any charger you use. Sometimes they just stop working and you have no idea. Some don't even get warm to give you a clue.

Senior moment again. Been keeping track of the batteries though so hopefully I won't have any battery bombs going off in the shop, Bill!

Used the loader to haul the two pieces and 2 doors from the gun cabinet around to the basement door. Parked with the front high, fuel come out of the tank at the very front. Yep! Ran it out of fuel. With the loader on, there is no straight shot at the air bleed screws at the filter or pump. Managed to get the pump screw out far enough to get the fuel flowing there. Then cracked the lines at the injectors one at a time. After a considerable amount of cranking, it finally ran on its own. I checked the oil but never thought of checking the fuel. Been a long time since I ran a diesel out of fuel.

Get it all done before the rain, Rog?

Yep. Was all in the basement by 10:45 this morning. Replaced a couple screws in the bottom section door hinges. The cleaned the whole outside. Drove through a shower on the way home on the interstate but I think at 70 that wasn't much rain actually hit the short piece sticking out on the tailgate. Tanoue cover protected the rest. Glass door were in the back seat.

I used the MF7 and cart to load up all the tractor batteries. Brought all the batteries into the garage and will put the battery chargers on them during the winter.
I have 3 of the automatic battery chargers, I rotate thru all the batteries.

I took one of my batteries out a few months ago, but I still have to put it on the maintainer:oops:. I'm REALLY slackin, I should do it before it dies on me and I can't use it next year. Its on a piece of wood in the basement on the floor, and I don't go down there much

More firewood. We had a few trees come down on our road from the s-word Friday. We got them cleaned up Saturday. The smaller ones I drug home with the Ford, the bigger one was cut up and hauled home on the trailer with the 882. We got them all split Sunday.
