What did you do with your tractor today?

Ive tried using the OEM metal dump cart on the back but it sticks out further than the rear wheels so it easily gets banged up... still have to be careful with the wooden basket but since its smaller it isnt quite as bad... but it will get banged up eventually. Its nice to have some onboard storage for some extra fuel or the hand held weed sprayer since these rigs turn too tight for pulling a trailer.

Looks like a great mower! Some sticker installer had a sense of humor---"on riders"---LOL!

Got the mowing done with the MF12G, no problems at all! Hopefully next Monday I will be able to mow the road ditch. I was able to go about a foot deeper on both slopes this time. No more water but a strip of mud along the bottom. Did the weed whacking too.

Good long ride to the brush pile or compost pile is for me a nice break in the work and a little rest. Don
 
There was a couple muskrats swimming around... heat didnt seem to bother them so I was thinking they had the right idea..Lol

an umbrella would be nice but Im sure it wouldnt last me long... I'd forget about it and drive thru the trees ripping it off... probably within a day. One of my Lowboys had a canopy and I broke several branches before finally taking it off... I blame Oldtimers ;)
 
Finished with the final coat on the tin for the QT. Using Do-It Best paint From the local Lumber Yard. Has good pigment content, sprays out nice, and very little problem with run or sags. Today will paint the front wheels and the screen for the grill. Decals are on the way from Sam's Bolens. Will put on the clear coat over the decals.

decided to get back into spray painting again after 15 yrs abouts so had a quick practice run on a hood for the rover lawn tractor IMG_20190606_144430.jpg hood before i started , striped it back to bare metal IMG_20190711_113435.jpgIMG_20190711_113423.jpg IMG_20190712_110941.jpg IMG_20190711_123314.jpg then under coated it putty/primer , did remove some dents but never filled any with putty , paint is Bottle Green enamel ,
while i had it apart i gernied the machine clean to play the part

Got off work at 11:30 for a couple doctor appointments and when I got home I prepped the MF12G and mowed. Tractor did great, but the dumb operator decided to try mowing the drainage ditch out by the road. Got stuck in foul smelling septic mud. I shut off the deck and raised it, put in reverse them climbed off and started pulling the tractor up on the road. I didn't expect traction quite where it took off but managed to side step and jump on the deck! Hanging on to the steering wheel to keep from falling off, I was able to hit the throttle lever down to idle, then popped the transaxle into neutral, just before backing into the ditch on the other side of the road! What a dummy! No damage to tractor or operator so mowing continued for the rest of the afternoon!

One of the first things I learned in the military, if the terrain looks iffy, walk it first. I recovered so many vehicles because people wouldn't take the time and walk through the area they were going to take a vehicle through and scope the situation out. Live and learn.
