What did you do with your tractor today?

Cleared snow off driveways 3 days ago, well, just a strip, and then the ice melted from sun even though temps never got above freezing. But today temp got to 50F. The concrete aprons for my shop were still iced and snowy as they receive little sun. Today they showed signs of softening, so got the Kubota and using front bucket thought I'd clear it off fast. Wasn't easy as I thought, but finally got them cleared.

Nothing yesterday except pulled the wheel off the wood spliter I backed into last fall. Draw bar on the Ranger poked a heck of a ole in it. Had one 15" tire left and a brand new tube so run to town and back. Wheel is back on, stuff put away and in the house for a whiel. Might go rabbit hunting after dinner.

Got the MF8E checked out and plowed snow. It was so heavy and wet I thought it would be good to get some of it pushed off the gravel. It ran great, functioned perfectly! Nice enough out where it was a fun chore!

I tried to take a picture while plowing but it failed!

Hehe. I just asked about that. Was wondering where the pictures were.

You had a fun day there Doug. Works good.

I had my MF 14 bulldozer out to day too. Pushed a bunch of stuff, similar to your place. No time for pictures thou. Was a tractor meeting this afternoon. One of the fellas showed up just as I was getting done. Meeting was from 2:00 till 5:00.

What do you mean by a "tractor meeting", Noel? A club meeting or something?

No club Doug. Just a couple of fellas come some times on a Sunday for a chat. I just call it a tractor meeting, just for fun. We chat about anything. One fella brought a new calendar, different tractor each month. So we all looked at that. You know your getting old when your lookin at calendars with tractors on the pages instead of pretty girls. !

Guess I'm young in the mind but dumber---I still like seeing a pretty girl calendar too---LOL! They are getting hard to find though. The old guy I knew that used to give me one every year died a little over a year ago, so that source is gone, sadly. He had them printed himself, and they just said "Wild Bill" as a business on them. Don't think his wife would have let him be the photographer though!

Finally filled the roller and rolled the yard today, after last nights rain.
Looking for a good soaking rain to get better results.
But I needed some seat time.

Picked up everything to fully service my x570 and dad's x590.

Going to do the first transaxle oil change on dad's and the second on mine. I'm staying ahead of schedule on it!

Factory recommends an engine oil and filter every 2 seasons but I've been doing it every season.

Eager to see how the girl does for her 4th grass cutting season. Been so flawless thus far! The guy at the dealership tried to talk me into a trade in in the x750 I was drooling over. Told him mine was enough

Got the White 1655 out, dropped the rear blade off and mounted the landscape/rock rake. Went after all the small limbs those hybred willows drop every winter. It gets all but the real small one that will mow up OK. Have three piles that will go through the chipper shredder this moring. Free mulch for the flower beds. I did change oil and greased the tractor before I started.

We serviced the tractors yesterday and my youngest daughter went for tractor rides with me then my dad.

The mf7 got the battery back in and rode around as well. My daughter says it her tractor. She loves that thing. The deck is off. She sits on my lap and just drives around the yard over and over.

Well hopefully that’s the last time I use this tractor, until I put the tiller on. Hehe. Sittin by fire to warm up after clearing the snow. Was fluffy snow about 5” deep. Easy to move.

To cold out to use the MF 14 bulldozer. I was hoping to use it, but to cold, brrrr !!!

Nothing like a good wood fire to warm up by. Been using our fireplace lately also, more to get ride of some left over wood stored in the mudroom before spring. I quit pushing snow when I got the first thrower many years ago. Used the big tractor with back blade and front bucket before that. Sold that outfit and now I blow everything. Gets it clear out of the way that way.
