Thanks for the help on this, GB. You fixed another one. I think this is the first generator that I ever got going again. Usually I just put an alternator on and convert them to 12v.I like the videos its genning now shoot some WD40 on the generator brushes commutator and the brush holders I see the brush holders look pretty rusty
That is where I would have been headed.Usually I just put an alternator on and convert them to 12v.

May still end up with a 12v system. I already ordered a 12v coil. Its nice to know I have a working 6v system that can go on the shelf or possibly the Farmall C if that system has a problem.Ye[p, with a Mopar voltage drop resistor for the lights and points. Starter will handle 12V with no problem and they start a lot better too.
I convert to 12v and alternators also if the generator and VR need to be replaced, I've found it cheaper. I'm amazed at what a good and versatile alternator the Delco series with the internal regulator isThanks for the help on this, GB. You fixed another one. Yep, and right against the seat base/toolbox so all of the crud get stuck between and rusts it out. Those lines lay right where the manure & dirt build up and feet seem to be.
