New project

I made it back home this afternoon. Only issue is in the last 120 miles I ended up with a flat outer dually tire. Valve stem was broken.
I took a few pictures of Logan Canyon yesterday morning. IMG_20250704_093253519_HDR.jpg
This hill in the front I took a snowmobile to the top back in my younger days IMG_20250704_093827471_HDR.jpg
This is from a overlook, Bear lake at the bottom.IMG_20250704_095402700_HDR.jpg

Back to work on the Allis. Sorry no pictures today. I installed the main rear drive axle in the transmission and found out I am missing 1 woodruff key for the differential and a shaft collar. I don't remember there being 2 keys when I took it apart but I am not the first person to have it apart. I will stop tomorrow after work for a woodruff key and have the shaft collar on order. I will spend most of tomorrow cleaning off the outside of the transmission housing so paint will stick to it.

With my tree project wrapped up back to work on the Allis. I have the transmission together and shifting correctly I just need to add some 90 weight oil to it. IMG_20250718_185115263_HDR.jpgTonight was spent sand blasting the variable speed pulleys and painted.IMG_20250718_185105971_HDR.jpgI also repainted one side of the main back frame. IMG_20250718_185101209_HDR.jpgI plan on getting it bolted to the transmission tomorrow and then bolt on the 90degree gear box IMG_20250718_185054157_HDR.jpg

Some progress is being made, at times I feel like 2 steps forward and 1 or 2 back. The left side drive is back together IMG_20250724_182442373_HDR.jpgThe rear lift and tiller drive have been a pain. The shaft the pulleys are mounted on is to turn on the shaft the lift pivots. IMG_20250724_182454085_HDR.jpgIt took lots of heat and hitting with a hammer and punch to get them separated. I am still working on the left side. Hopefully get it done this weekend and start working on the front orange section.IMG_20250724_182501148_HDR.jpg

I have the back half of the tractor done. Over the past few days I have been able to get the rear and front rims repainted along with the grill insert that is white.IMG_20250805_184738840_HDR.jpgI have started working on the hood IMG_20250805_184617618_PORTRAIT.jpgIMG_20250805_184609585_PORTRAIT.jpgThe inside is going to take some work, it has more rust and hard to reach areas.

Between the rain storms and the heat afterwards I made a little progress. I was able to mount up the 4 new tires for the Allis IMG_20250809_164422577_HDR.jpgIMG_20250809_164449628_HDR.jpgAfter I had these mounted up I tried to get the front tires for the Economy broken off the bead to install tubes. I ended up taking them to my buddies house and using his tire machine. The tire machine struggled but the bead finally broke and tubes are in a long with new wheel bearings and seals.IMG_20250809_164339663.jpgOnce I finish up the wiring it can move on its own. I do need to drain the transmission and rear axle oil and replace with fresh oil. The next issue is removing these 2 bars that come out of the back.IMG_20250809_164353034_HDR.jpgThe prior owner had a spray tank mounted on them. There is a bolt that holds them on I have removed and tried to pull them out but they will not budge.

Tomorrow I plan to prime the Allis hood and then start sanding it for paint.

I did get the hood done yesterday I am waiting for the decals to show up.IMG_20250811_165539193_HDR.jpgThe front center of the hood has a plate that was riveted in to cover the headlight holes. I went and painted the back white to match the color of the hood and then cleared over the black with the Allis decal.IMG_20250811_165609922_HDR.jpgI plan on using machine screws and lock nuts vs rivets. Now it is time to work on the front frame and get it repainted along with the front axle.
