What are you currently working on??

I need your parts list LOL.
Actually I will probably only swap over to a TC and just play with it, maybe change gearing a little or mod the linkages/governor.

It is a lot more fun to ride with the mods. Actually takes off and will wheelie on you if you aren't careful. Plus the engagement is a lot smoother and it makes a nice basement project for the winter. Doesnt take up much room and I can tinker.

Amazon China knock off tav30. With a 10 tooth 420 sprocket. $66
1" x 2" square stock $10
Rest came ombwarehouse.com
Ct200u under seat header $38
Non epa carburetor $24
18lb valve springs $10
Timing advance key $5
Air filter kit with jets and choke hold down $30
New higher quality chain $40

Governor removal free

Obviously the sky is the limit. Billet rods, flat top pistons, cams, ect.

Only advice is to be careful how fast you spin them with the stock flywheel. They are prone to failure. General consensus is about 4500 to 5k you are safe. Above that it's a big issue. I'm not sure if mine will spin up to 5k with tav.

Didn't work on anything but I start the deere and let it run for an hour to make sure the battery was good and charged. Also fired up my bike and let it idle for 20 minutes.

Did it help Jason. I was gunna do that last year on the John Deere. But wasn’t sure if it would help, and didn’t know where to get those bearings.

Noel.

I did my cub a couple years ago adn it helped a lot for mowing. Had to have the axle milled down to make room for bearings and thrust washers. Got the parts from Bahm Hydraulics in Omaha, NE. I haven't needed anything they could not supply.

Metal fatigue strikes again, somewhat. Bolt holding the gear box on broke. So the gearbox moved, which moves the pulley alignment with the engine pulley and off comes the belt. Again. I’m guessing the bolts that hold the gear box in place became loose and the vibration broke the bolt. But the bolt was already broke just a little bit too. Any way. New bolts in and she fixed up. Again. Just glad it didn’t break the bolt hole tab off the gear box.

I imagine those gearboxes are getting harder to find, Noel. Good deal it was a fairly simple fix with no more damage. That gearbox kinda looks like some of the old shaft drive mower deck gearboxes too.

Finally got the jetting spot on with the minibike. .036 main and the gx140 emulsion tube. Darn thing screams now. Feels good at 60 degrees outside. Hopefully it runs as good when it's 80 or 90.

This is how it should have left the factory. It runs perfect and screams down the road. Clocked at 45mph today on flat ground. Tiny tach shows it holding 4900 rpm wide open.

Which all adds up 19" diameter tire, 10/60 gearing.

Factory was about 22mph and it would go ok around the yard and on some light light trails I took it on. I tried to hit the rail road track path and see how it handled it but too much shade and it was full of ice and snow still!

Next upgrade will be a set of more aggressive tires. I can blow the rear tire off in the grass. I also need to figure out a way to mount a hydraulic disc brake on the rear. I have a good idea but it's going to require some welding.

I did throw it up on Craigslist. If someone snags it up I won't be too mad. I'd like to pick up a real 140 to 200cc dirt bike to play with.

Got some more work done on the MF1450 but that's a different thread.

Another little project came along. A co-worker texted me and said he had a welding cart he was going to throw in scrap at work. I told him throw it at me instead. He did. Think that the old stand that I built 10-12 years ago for the chop saw might get abandon for this cart. Have to modify it some, but can put more small scraps on it and being expanded steel, the filings will somewhat fall on through instead of riding in the cart until it gets emptied and cleaned. More stuff to do and so little time!

Woke up to no water this morning. The house is run with a pump from a storage tank that the well fills. I sometimes have to fill tank out of the cistern when we do a lot of laundry, dishwasher etc, well can't keep up. Sunday I filled tank, shut off well to let it recharge, but forgot to throw the valve back open. Well guess we empty storage tank, pump ran a lot time and PVC got hot enough it cracked and we had no water. Thankfully well was able to get us through until tonight when I replaced piping and union fitting....so glad I installed that when I set this all up.
Soon I will be ordering some new storage tanks and installing a low pressure cutoff switch to prevent pump from running if we run low again.

You can see the pipe right above pump was a little swollen

Headed home from a CL wild goose chase.
I got what I went for, now sitting at a Chili's for lunch on the way home. Was gonna go to a swap meet today but between masks and 25% capacity, and knowing someone who was at that place last week for a gun and knife show, there were more people in line waiting outside for somebody to leave so they could get in. So if I bought something and ran out to my truck instead of carrying it the rest of the day, I'd not be able to get back in w/I going thru the line again? Sounds about like waiting 2 hours for the roller coaster to get a 90 second ride. No thanks.

Rewired my 5x8 trailer yesterday, has almost new lights but they were working intermittently. Stupid goats chewed on the harness when I had it parked in their pen to land the hogs last Oct.
Once I pulled the old wire out, I found about 4 or 5 repairs down the tongue area, guess I make some fixes over the years. Now it's all good with a new plug and harness and working properly.

Pulled the Super Tomahawk chipper shredder out this morning to get it ready to go. Changed the oil, checked for spark which was good. Had gas from last year so gave it a pull with choke on, not quite. Second pull it was running. Had to dig a mouse nest out of the branch feed area next to the drum. Gas line was leaking so replaced the whole line and filter. Filled with gas and it is ready to go.

Got some more done on my Frankenstein tractor recently. A friend provided me with a hood from an old Murray. It didn't take much persuasion to fit it on this frame/engine combination. After cutting clearance for the exhaust and replacing the lights I took it and my Cub Cadet 782 outside for a comparison photoshoot. "Frankie" started out as a Cub Cadet 1864. Which is a newer version of a 782 and with power steering. The picture of the yellow/white Cub Cadet is what it would have originally looked like. Of course I started with no hood, seat, deck, or engine.
With the taller tires I gained 3" ground clearance. But when I removed 2 1/2"from the dash and 6" from the steering column along with lowering the seat the overall height is about the same.
Have not decided on the paint scheme yet. But the feature tractor at a big show this summer is Massey Ferguson. I may paint it Massey colors and decals just to mess with people. I could give it a fictitious model number and call it a rare prototype. ;)
I still need to finish/design the rear hitch and hydraulics, and button up a few loose ends.

Ordered more mini bike parts....billet rod, flat top piston, billet flywheel, cam, and valve springs.

I picked up another bike from rural king today. My project bike has gotten a little wild for the kids to ride on with me....

My dad rode it today and he said it's too much for him. Small bike 10ish hp and 5k rpm it flat out rips. It probably wouldn't feel so fast if it was on a real motorcycle frame...

Well I like it Rick. Looks great. Should Plow great. Is it easier to steer with the bigger tires on the front ?
