What are you currently working on??

That's a Ford/Jacobsen air filter. It would be easier to get a correct unit to start with. I may have something more in line with what you need.
That is a JD air cleaner. I put the air cleaner from the K 301 from the Simplicity on it and will find some sheet metal to cover the hole in the shroud. I did run it around the yard yesterday and runs good.

If I had a lathe I could make a spacer. It would have to be an 1 !/4" thick. If I could talk you into making me I shore would like it and pay for it.

I got it started and it seems to be off balance as it shakes the tractor while idling. Would just changing the flywheel possibly cause that?
Looks to me like if you have a jig saw and drill you could whittle a nice shim/spacer out of plywood. give it a nice coat of engine paint and good to go. Don

I still need to hook up the crankcase breather hose to the air filter housing.

I also started working on getting another BGB installed in my 3415S that I got a couple months ago.

Finally got the 2166 PTO engagement working. Tried the PTO switch connection but ended up engaging the deck when the brak was released. Studied the diagram and tried bypassing on relay with a simple jumper. Worked out good. Safety start still functions and deck engages when the knob is pulled. Then found out I have a bad solenoid on the starter. Don't make contact to turn the starter all the time. Have to use the old hammer tap to get it to work. One of these days I will run out of problems on this thing.

Well I was cutting my elderly neighbors lawn like I’ve done numerous times with the GT235 when the blades caught something that stopped them and the tractor cold. Had to get up and slide the tractor off of what ever it was. It would seem that many years ago they drove an axle like piece into the ground as a property line marker and yup bent the blade and ruined a belt. After a few explatives took her home and got out the 210 and finished up. Grrrrrr... so off to buy new and thought I’d replace the drive belt to while at it but my supplier was out of both belts. That’s never ever happened before. Guess it just wasn’t my day so it’ll wait to be repaired.

Ouch! That doesn't give very well!

Yup they give me some cash but that pays for gas. Dont have the heart to ask for the cash I’ll fix it but think I’ll be doing it with the 210 from now on. I love that 235 and need it to last and it takes half the time to cut it with it
Cutting the extra grass with it is reall starting to take its toll on it. Used to keep it washed up and clean but with cutting all the wet grass because I work second shift is not doing it any good. I’ve sharpened the blades and cleaned the deck more in the last two months than I have in five years combined. The 210 is a solid contributor though ,runs great and never complains. Considering we rescued it from the scrap yard I’m very happy with it. I have considered selling it though and buying a 214 my brother has for sale but it runs so good almost afraid to and I e sort of grown attached to it after all the work I put into it.

What is that saying? Something like "Nice guys finish last". It's great to be a good neighbor and help the elderly, but - - - -mowing wet grass is not good any way you look at it. Hard on your equipment and hard on their grass. Mow when it is dry, but that would not have moved that stake any. Drive it down about 8 or 10".

I have some work to do on my SS12
Starter needs rebuilt or do I leave it in “pull start mode”
I found this tractor at scrap yard and bought it for the wheel weights and hubcaps for my SS16. I was surprised it fired right up once the “on off” switch was properly wired
Yes I painted it,, you may notice a trend 085D1783-CBEC-4920-AA3D-ED9EB8724C9F.jpeg

If you like it , it doesn’t matter what anybody else thinks. Looks good but better yet it was a scrap yard save. I too have one of those saves.

Well I went over to my elderly neighbors and explained what happened and they ended up giving me some cash and the normal check for gas and said how sorry they were but the best thing is I pulled out the axle or whatever it may have been so it does no more harm to the Herd.

Glad you got the offending part out of the ground!

I can mow about any time it is fit so don't mow when it is wet, period. Only one mowing unit has working lights but don't use them either. If your stuck working the afternoons and it's wet in the morning it dson't leave much choice but be prepared for the consequences. Glad you got that old Ford stake out of there. I have one of those in a fence row to set a gate on when it is open but it is marked on the fence and a mower don't get into the fence.

One mowing tractor started with the booster pack. Charger on it for an hour and was good enough to mow with. Mrs took off with that one. Had a good bearing I saved from another rebuild so put that in the deck on the 1512. It is back together and running. Mowing finished but was getting some hard sprinkles that last couple passes. Some how the deck got out of level. Right side cut about an inch lower now. Another project.
