What are you currently working on??

a small truck wouldn’t be bad to do. That darn van has a lot of surface area inside and out!
We updating Motorhome. No more floral pattern or rust coloured curtains. Two weekends to do the work and still about 6 hours of smaller details. There was factory shag carpet on walls in cab,,That’s gone. Vinyl to replace

A friend gave me a clapped out mobility cart. I used the arms off of it to put on my sulky.
The wife and grandkids will be happier now.
A little clean up and some paint, and four bolts and holes.
Used what brown paint I had left over. Doesn't quite match, but ..Good Enough!

The same friend gave me a small pile of square tubing off of a golf cart. (He wouldn't give me his golf cart seats)

I used part of two pieces to make ends for the butt buggy seat.
I still need to redo the cushions and provide for an umbrella.
The wife says she has enough vinyl material for the cushions, but it is RED.
That should look real nice on that yellow tractor.o_O
I may invest in some vinyl.

Broke the handle on the vise. (probably because I used a 4 lb. hammer to tighten it)
The weld broke that fastened the handle to the threaded rod. After disassembly I used the lathe to remove the the old weld and clean up the end of the shaft. Then welded it back together. I had to dress up the weld a little to make it refit into the jaw enough to reinstall the retaining collar on the inside of the jaw. Then it was reassembled.
Don't remember when I got this vise but I've had and abused it for a long time.

Is it bad that I haven't been working on anything? I haven't done a single thing at home other than cut grass. Tonight we are going to the lake and I'll be working on falling asleep on the lounge, swimming, grilling and catching fish (not all at the same time)! Plan on doing the same thing next weekend for Christmas in July. Trying to make sure of the camper this year. We have went out twice all summer so far, but the fall is much more fun as the weather isn't quite as hot. We didn't go any last year.

There is a big name Lathe company that has a lot of parts for Craftsman machine shop stuff. I have a small Craftsman lathe and they have the oong screw for mine yet. Can't think of the company name right off.

Not working on anything tractor or even truck related. After I got home from work, my Father in law stopped by for a bit. He was going to catch a flight to Virginia for his brothers funeral, and we had his boarding pass here.

Then I cut sandblast stencil for some granite grave markers that will go on my wife's grandparents graves. I will have to get someone to sandblast them for me after the masking is done. I will try to get the mask applied tomorrow.

My Durango overheated several times when I went to Daniel's plow day, we both determined that the fan clutch went bad. I replaced that and have driven it fine since with no issues. Yesterday I went and got 40 bales of hay, drove a good 20 to 25 mins home and not an issue......until I was backing in the drive. I had to get out and open the gate, when I got back in, temp gauge was closed to pegged, both electric and clutch fans were running. I revved it up several 1000 rpms and held it there, temps started dropping. I'm wondering if I have a faulty thermostat. Couldn't check coolant level, way too hot.

Working on a freebie 3100 PSI pressure washer. B&S engine had no compression even though the piston still moved. Found a replacement engine on EPAY, but it's a Honda. Got it here and all bolted back together. Gonna try it out today I'm hoping.

Yesterday working out in the main shop I put my air conditioner under the door but it still got to 85* in there. Yeah it was over a hundred outside. This morning I started that a/c again and it's not blowing cold air anymore. That explains that!

While the shed was still in shade this morning I dug out an old window a/c that has been sitting out there, built a new filler and put it in service. Temp out there never got over 82*. Compressor is noisy but it's working at least. It was hotter today than yesterday too!
