What are you currently working on??

With judicious use of a 4 lb. hammer and a grinder I managed to get the bracket to perform its intended function.
The blade on the D160 now turns to the left and the right.
Next on the list is to replace the scraper on the blade.
I managed to pressure wash the tractor yesterday.
The only issues I've had so far are with the blade.

So the nightmare before Christmas saga continues but there is light @ the end of the tunnel now.. Took advantage of the nice weather today and opened up the shop and got the batteries & wiring reinstalled on the money pit and guess what- It started right up! The best part of the whole thing is it no longer has that annoying tik-tik-tik from the leaky exhaust manifold! Put the hood back on and pulled the thing out into the driveway and employed the JD 4310 to reinstall the box. Backed the thing back into the shop for things to get bolted back down and install the new rear bumper..

And- just for fun I noticed one of the exhaust hangers was about to give up the ghost so I cut it off and put on a new one. Always something..

Also after our dinner this afternoon the family settled down for some relaxation.. IMG_1576.JPGMore pix:

Well today sucked, replaced heater core in my daughter's Junk Liberty. I don't know if I'm more angry with the idiots that design these things or my wife and daughter who are pigs and had food all over the console and floor, nasty!
I saw a video where a guy said the labor book was 9 hrs on this, I did it in 5 with a little help from my son. I cut the ends off the old core, almost every tube was clogged within a couple inches of the inlet/outlet so it was just bypassing itself.
Now it will run you out within a few mins of engine hitting running temps.
Oh, and I didn't have a single screw/bolt leftover so I feel accomplished

I've never had a plugged heater core, Marty, but a gas station I worked at back in the '70's had a secret fix. He would fill the heater core with Lime Away or a similar product. He would do it in the car. It may take a couple days but he usually got the core flowing again. I have had to replace plenty of leakers, but all in old vehicles.

Looks like you should be a line tech at a Jeep dealership! You would have done well on that job! Did you make them clean stuff up?

Just replaced the one in my 99 Ram last month, same situation. Got it apart just fine, had to get my daughter over to help set the dash back in place.

I tried CLR last winter and even let it sit full strength in the core for a bit. I gave her a little "warmth" and made it through winter, but now it was done. I took a metal wire and couldn't even push it down through the tubes after I cut off end cap.
I would lose my mind if I was a mechanic full time, I would end up losing my patience.

Neither on was home and I needed to get it back together so I swept out most of it and then soap/water the console and gear shifts. I had to clean it before putting it back together. I know my daughter eats in the car, but most of it was from the wife when it was her car. The Libby she drives look like that right now.

Swapped out the old stove for a new one. Got this on a black Friday deal. My wife never liked the stove that came with the house, so this was a good time to get a new one that she picked out. Old stove will get cleaned up and sold. My Daughter is setting up the WiFi on the new stove. I guess it will take them a while to figure this one out.
